S-PLUS and R
Hello, How do I import data from Excel onto R? I am using S-Plus Envstat module. I need to use some of the data that already exist in the Envstat and put it into R to make graphs, find basic informations like mean, median, standard deviation, etc. I have been reading the help links, but I don't see anything in reference to this. Please help me! -Maher Lina

feedback/help request
...length limits on the "append" clauses in syslinux.cfg, or the resulting kernel command line? Or, maybe, am I missing quoting requirements to escape the "=", or blowing the parameter separators (I tried both spaces and commas, and one long quoted string)? Steve Brown sbrown7 at umbc.edu P.S.: The particular parameters that I have tried passing in have been just about all permutations of pci=noprobe, idex=noprobe, hdx=noprobe, and hdx=none (with the proper replacements of "x", of course).

OpenSSH/Heimdal/MIT KDC problem/question
...h machine2 doesn't. Weirdo, eh? I'm pretty familar with the Kerb APIs, however, not so much with the GSSAPI stuff; however, the GSSAPI routines seem to obfuscate what's going on at the Kerb level, so it's hard to tell what's going on. MTFTP support in PXElinux??
Hiya, Just joined the list and started using pxelinux. Very cool product!!! I searched the, 8+ MB, archives looking for multicast entries. I know that the pxelinux page says that the support of mtftp in pxelinux isn't in the works but I'm not sure how old/relavant that comment is. I have noticied some comments from H.P.A. describing the difficulties in doing MTFTP. Are there any plans to

isolinux serial console keyboard issue
Hello list, I am trying to use the console to setup my machine. During boot I am able see the syslinux boot prompt on the serial console *and* the monitor, but I can not use the console keyboard. I can only use the keyboard that is connected on the machine. After the kernel is loaded, the console keyboard starts working, but, this does not help me much, since I still need to use the keyboard

Stream File Type?
I'm a newbie. I've just installed Icecast2 and am streaming to it successfully via Nicecast (great app BTW). My problem is that the stream from Icecast2 comes through as an .m3u which does not correctly open on any of the Mac or Windows machines that I've tried. When broadcasting directly from Nicecast the file type is a .pls which both iTunes and WMP seem to deal with just fine

"pre-OS"
Ok, syslinux is what it is, and I love the way it just works. I looked up linuxBios and found what I was looking for. A project in 2000 called "LOBOS (Linux OS Boots Linux OS): Booting a Kernel in 32-bit Mode? It looks like this would do what I need, but I can't find any working code. I like the Idea of booting a simple fail safe system and restarting a production kernel. Yes,
