Linking Linux kernel with LLD
...les and after doing readelf -a on LLD linked and bfd linked ones, I found that LLD outputs vmlinux as executable and bfd output is DSO. Had no chance to investigate why that happens, but pretty sure that is the not fine.
Invocation line for us does not contain -shared:

Memdisk + Freedos problem
I and some other people have problems with running the freedos image included in
Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD), when using memdisk for floppy emulation.
Memdisk starts booting the image and freedos shows the following menu:
0 Boot Clean
1 Boot UMBPCI (silent)
2 Boot UMBPCI (optimal)
3 Boot UMBPCI (semi-defensive)
4 Boot EMM386 (optimal)
5 Boot EMM386 (semi-defensive)
6 Boot no UMB (defensive)
7 Boot no UMB (ultra-defensive)
0 Boot Clean
____________
Works fine.
1 Boot UMBPCI (silent)

dos?
I have an old dos app that doesn't run in the win95 shell very well.
There are problems with the graphics.
Is it possible to connect to a samba server from real dos? I assume the
answer is no but I thought I would check.

Quick plot question
Is there an easy way to add an axis or just a simple line at the 0
position of a graph with positive and negative values. Specifically,
I'ld like to add a zero line on a plot of residuals from a fit. I'm
very new at R so if this is a dumb question feel free to let me know but
I'ld still appreciate any help.
Thanks
Bernie

[memdisk] collision between memdisk and emm386 (FreeDOS)
...h=8 s=36 floppy
The problems begin when I try to run FreeDOS memory manager emm386 from the
floppy image.
my config.sys:
...
1?DEVICE=HIMEM.EXE /VERBOSE
1?DEVICE=EMM386.EXE X=C000-C800 NOEMS /VERBOSE
...
System hangs (freezes) just after emm386 is loaded, leaving all information
about memory (UMB etc.). There is no any error, everything looks like it
loaded OK, but it isn't. I've tried a lot of command line options for
emm386, but no effect.
The strange think is that when I did the same with 2880kB floppy image the
problem completely disappeared! - In that case the only one susp...

The ISO is from a manufacturer, but I can modify it if needed (change

For loop with if else statement
Hi,
I try to make a simple for loop with a if else statement (First example - Below) and extend it to a more complex loop (Second example). However, my results
#First example:
x=c(1,2)
t=for(i in 1:length(x)){
if (x==1){a=x+1}else
if (x==2){a=x}
}
Returned from R:

linear mixed model with nested factors
Hi R-help.
I am trying to run a linear mixed model with nested factors with either
lme or lmer and I am having no luck obtaining the same results as Minitab.
Here is Minitab's code:
MTB > GLM 'count' = site year replicate(site year) site*year;
SUBC> Random 'year' 'replicate';
Can you tell me how to code this in R?
The settings are typeII, Tukey,

FYI Incompatibilities between recent versions of OpenSSH and Sun SSH
...nces.
Sun has finally published a FAQ on their SSH two days ago
http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=finfodoc%2F50465&zone_32
=sshd The problem is rooted in the fact that Sun developed their SSH
based on OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 That version came out in February of 2001.
There have been a number of changes since then and that has caused
timeout problems in past for uses when interacting from Solaris 9 to
other systems that are running OpenSSH.
We have observed session ending abruptly after 15 minutes even when
actively using the session. Also we have seen automated SSH file
transfers...
