[patch] ./configure problem on Solaris with Sun's CC
Hi, I have a problem with tftpd-hpa on Solaris-8, in that the configure script cannot find the regex engine. This is because of the following in configure.in: LIBXTRA=false AC_SEARCH_LIBS(xmalloc, iberty, , LIBXTRA=true AC_LIBOBJ(xmalloc)) AC_SEARCH_LIBS(xstrdup, iberty, , LIBXTRA=true AC_LIBOBJ(xstrdup)) AC_SEARCH_LIBS(bsd_signal, bsd, , LIBXTRA=true AC_LIBOBJ(bsdsignal)) if $LIBXTRA; then

server renaming problems
Good Morning, I have a Sun E220R I am building as a replacement for an Ultra2. The OS is Solaris 2.7, samba version is 2.2.2. As a test box I named the E220R 'tiamat'. The older U2 is 'terra'. Tiamat had samba running happily on it. Last night I tested the switch over by using /usr/sbin/sys-unconfig on tiamat. This strips the system id, hostname, IP address. I then reconfigured

Adaptec SCSI Card 2930LP supported by CentOS 5.x?
Hi, for a specific application we need a low-profile SCSI card (PCI) with external 50pin connector. I thought about getting an "Adaptec SCSI Card 2930LP". However I was not able to find any usable information about wether this card is supported by Linux/CentOS 5.x or not. Does anyone have this card working with a CentOS 5.x machine? Alternatively: Are there any linux-supported

using text() to write into left margin
In version 0.63.0 for Win95, I can use text() to write into the left margin (to the left of the axis) as follows: > plot(0:10,0:10,pch="+") > text(c(1,0.5,0,-0.5,-1),1,"O") I see 5 "O" symbols at the expected position, two of which are left of the left axis. However, in version 0.64.0 for Solaris 2.5.1 on a Sparc/Ultra2, I only see three "O"

Solaris 8: RSA_padding_check_PKCS1_type_1:block type is not 01
Hi, I have a returning problem with one of my sparc Solaris machines. I have a Ultra2 with two 296MHz processors. All recent combinations of openssh/openssl have a not permanent problem. cvs bulid breaks on slackware
cvs code from this morning (about 9am PST) breaks on slackware 7.1 w/ gcc 2.95.2.1 with an undefined reference to session_setup_sia in session.o. this seems to be the culprit here: #ifdef HAVE_OSF_SIA #else /* HAVE_OSF_SIA */ session_setup_sia(pw->pw_name, ttyname); since i have no idea what that's trying to accomplish (and seems to be a bit backwards to me from looking

CentOS on Compaq Proliant Rackmount Servers
Greetings, Can anyone relate experience(s) installing CentOS on Compaq rack mount servers units please? Easy no problem, easy some issues, or ghastly do not do it under any circumstances... ;) Basically, I'm looking at some used/refurb dual PIII units and will run RAID on Compaq built in SCSI or is it easy to pop in some 3ware SATA in them? Let me know in terms of CentOS 3 and/or 4 please.

Probs with Solaris 2.6
Hi, I use OpenSSH (thanks folks) to administer a mix of boxes at work and have seen some quite scary problems. I set up an ssh connection from the host to a central admin machine from a perl script running on the host. The script brings up an ssh connection to the central admin machine and sets up some reverse port redirection for administration (telnet for instance) and some forward

Cannot apply delete-sent-files.diff on solaris platform
I have been trying various ways and looking though the lists, but I can't seem to find a solution. I am running a Ultra2 with Solaris 9 and rsync 2.5.2, with the old -move-files patch. I want to upgrade to 2.6.3 with the delete-sent-files patch. Which I understand is the new and improved version serving the same purpose. Unfortunately my patch under Solaris did'nt work, so I d/l

External Journal scenario - good idea?
Hello everyone, I've just recently joined the ext3-users list. I spent much of the weekend browsing over list archives and other tidbits I could find on the net, regarding using an external journal, and running in data=journal mode. From what I have seen looking around at what other folks are doing, data=journal with an external journal may be able to help our problem here. If I

cross-realm spnego issue in 3.0.2rc1
Hi, I just installed 3.0.2rc1 for testing, and I came across a problem with cross-realm authentication. I joined samba to our active directory domain, and I can see that it has host and cifs principals in windows kerberos. Our organization's primary kerberos realm (CEDE.PSU.EDU) is an MIT kerb5 realm, and we have a one-way non-transitive trust such that windows (server 2003) kerberos
