Dovecot 1.0-test77 endless loop hang
Client: Bynari Insight Connector 3.0.5. (http://www.bynari.net/)
This is an IMAP-based plugin for Outlook that can also store Outlook
collaboration objects (calendar, tasks, notes, etc.) in IMAP messages on the
server side. It does not require special server extensions, and it was
actually (mostly) working with 1.0-stable.
Below is a rawlog dump showing what is going back and forth. After

Problem with expire plugin and expunge
Hello,
I am running dovecot 2.0.9 with expire plugin, using the sqlite backend. The
following command is executed every day by cron:
doveadm expunge -A mailbox Trash savedbefore 30d
I started to use the expire plugin about one month ago. Since then,
using "doveadm search -A mailbox Trash savedbefore <days>" with different
values for <days>, I could see every day how

malformed password entry
I have a Sparc Ultra-2 running Solaris 2.7 and Samba version 2.0.5
Most of the time everything works fine, Win95 & WinNT users connect
to Samba shares and work. Occasionally, users report not being able to
view the Samba server in which case I have them map a drive manually
or do a "find computer". There are times when this does not work. I take

With 'mail_debug=yes' I see nothing relevant. Just something like this when I want to expunge deleted mails:

Confused
Hi all,
I really don't know where to go from here. I've traced and pasted, but
never heard responses....
I'm getting the following (see bottom of this email) in a single day of
dmesg....most of the time the error message in the log file is something like:

dovecot 2.1.3 dsync Unexpected finish reply
I've been moving users from one system to another by doing a dsync
mirror operation. The first dsync mirror takes some time, because of the
number of users involved, so I am doing an initial sync, and then I
direct the users to the new location and do a final 'freshening' sync to
get any changes that happened during the longer sync.
The problem seems to be with this freshening sync,

Marking as Read causes Body.Peek on ALL messages - Reasonable?
I've noticed when I select a folder of messages (Thunderbird) and mark
them all as read (or unread) it produces the following IMAP transcript:

Has anyone managed to reproduce this (using my transcript for example)?
With mutt, I get this problem.. If I set 'imap_pipeline_depth=0' in
.muttrc, I can't seem to reproduce it anymore.

Received Date vs Date Header
I am trying to figure out why my mail clients are not correctly showing
me the received date versus the date header date. I am using Dovecot
1.1B9. Here is a copy of the rawlog from Dovecot when I started up the
client. Is Dovecot supposed to be sending the received date and the
date header during this conversation?

Race condition when setting flags (\Deleted) + expunge quickly, leaving mails not deleted
Hello.
I seem to have found a race condition, when setting flags on multiple emails
rapidly. 5 commands including login to reproduce. Problem found using mutt in
real world usage.
Seems to happen both with UID STORE 1:3 and UID STORE 1,2,3 ..
I have tried with the following packages, with a minimized config in a
throwaway vm:

Maildir loses keywords in index beyond 26

dovecot-1.1.6-2.fc10.i386 (configuration not changed from stock)
Fedora 10
AMD Athlon XP
ext3
Maildir format doesn't store keywords in the index properly -- it goes up
to 26 and then further keywords are dropped.
I ran the tests with a simple script that feeds the lines from "commands"
to Dovecot one at a time and waits for
