Problems with VFAT files with spaces in Wine
I am running RedHat 7.1 on it's own linux drive, and have my win98 drive
mounted in fstab as vfat. I have installed wine, and can run programs
on my windows drive in old 8.3 named directoies. However, whenever I
try to run anything in Program Files, for example (with the space in the
file name), I get the following error:

Can we use gstreamer bad, ugly and ffmpeg packages ( installed using binary rpms) without any legal problems
Hi
We are using centos 5.3 Operating system. It comes with basic gstreamer
setup including gstreamer, gstreamer-tools, gstreamer-plugins-base and
gstreamer-plugins-good packages. To support different media formats we had
to install gstreamer-plugins-bad, gstreamer-plugins-ugly and
gstreamer-plugins-ffmpeg from third party repository like rpmfusion as
centos repository is not providing these packages. My question is, Can we
use these packages ( bad, ugly and ffmpeg) without any legal or licensing
issues? If No, Please tell the legal way of using them.
thanks

SIP response 403 "That is ugly"
I am trying to make an outgoing call using an iptel

asterisk and iptel found at
http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk%20sip%20client%20SER
I am getting the following error message:

I'm not quite sure what that means. Does anybody know

MP4/H.264 codec for Firefox?
...I installed the gstreamer plugins as described here:
https://wiki.centos.org/TipsAndTricks/MultimediaOnCentOS7
(No, I did not install Flash, VLC and all the other stuff. I only want
HTML5 MP4 playback..)
I enabled the nux repos. I did install all available gstreamer plugins,
i.e. -good -bad -ugly -ffmpeg etc. No success.
Has anybody got mp4 playback working?
Here's a test page:
https://www.quirksmode.org/html5/tests/video.html
Help would be appreciated!
Best regards, Roman

Probably I found a very ugly bug. I tried to delete a directory named

shown in Windows was ~0%. When I deleted the file, ALL FILES IN FOLDER
WHERE DELETED!!! (Except other directories.)
Than I got an error 'access denied'. The directory...

thats an rsync protocol message, and yeah, debugging

Newbie Question
...through the closet looking
for skeletons before entering into a meaningful relationship though.
The main question I have is: how does RoR play with bad DB design?
Most of the projects I''ve been working on have consisted of dealing with
connecting to legacy databases. Sometimes, really ugly legacy
databases, with schemas designed by someone who should be strapped to a
rocket and shot into the sun.
A lot of the design considerations that Rails seems to need to maximize
the horsepower are out of the control of developers in many shops.
Currently, if I asked for a primary key named...

Ugly menu/dialog font of applications, using debian sarge and wine 0.9.8 and 0.9.22
hello,
I have a problem with an unsuitable font in the
windows menus/dialogs with the above versions of wine
(dont think this depends much on the versions, though.
Have not tried other versions so far.) when using
debian sarge.
The font seems to look a bit ugly, usually destroys
partly the menu/dialog structures, and, most
important, has no German umlaut's (the diphtongs ae,
oe, ue and others) which I need definitely.
I have, on an old small HD, a 'trial' debian sarge
wine0.9.8 installation that does not have this defect:
There the font has t...

need help with some ugly code - is there a better way?
...39;,
:id => session[:user_id].venue.id
end
end
else
reset_session
flash[:message] = "Incorrect Username and/or password."
redirect_to :action=>''login''
end
end
end
That''s pretty ugly! Is there a better way to do this? Is there the
equiv. of a "case" or "switch" statement in RoR?
Do I need to provide more info?
thanks

Asterisk Debugging
I'd like to have Asterisk log useful messages during operation.
Is there any way in extensions.conf that I can manually log messages to a file, say via syslog()? The console output is ugly, with all the extra "Executing NoOp("SIP/pstn.voip.com-08a28bd0"," crud at the front of each line. I'm not sure how to save console output anyway.
Thanks,
Doug.
