curve comparison
Dear R users, I have seven regression lines I´d like to compare, in order to find out if these are significatively different. The main problem is that these are curves, non normal, non homogeneous data, I´ve tried to linearize them but it has not worked. So I´d like to know if you know any command or source in R which explains how to perform this kind of comparison. Thanks in advance for your

write fixed format
Dear R users; Is there a function in R that I can put "text" with proper alignments in a fixed format. For instance, if I have three fields: A, B and C, where both A and C are text with 3 characters and left alignment; B is a numeric one with 2 decimals and 3 integer space digits. How can I put the following row in a file? (note there is a space between a and 2, and after b.)

Lme4 Package Help!
Hello, all! So, as stated in the title, the Lme4 package used to output p-values for the fixed effects. What happened?! Literally 2 weeks ago, I ran code, got output with no errors, and had p-values listed for my fixed effects. Now, running THE SAME CODE with THE SAME DATASET (nothing at all has changed, not the data, not my computer, not R, nothing), I do not get p-values. I've tried

Here are the facts as far as I can tell. 1) I moved a 66 node rocks based cluster to a diskless cluster using the latest version of Centos and all updates in place. 2) users are added with home directory mounted across the nodes on the cluster so a

GAM Chi-Square Difference Test
We are using GAM in mgcv (Wood), relatively new users, and wonder if anyone can advise us on a problem we are encountering as we analyze many short time series datasets. For each dataset, we have four models, each with intercept, predictor x (trend), z (treatment), and int (interaction between x and z). Our models are Model 1: gama1.1 <- gam(y~x+z+int, family=quasipoisson) ##no smooths Model
