Centos 5.6 Implications of PGP53 ?
If one stays with Centos 5.x (currently on 5.6) is the
problem/enhancement/incompatibility involving PHP53 likely to be
resolved by general updates and/or the introduction of Centos 5.7 ?

problem with musiconhold
Hi everybody,
I'm receiving the message "res_musiconhold.c:309 monmp3thread:
Request to schedule in the past?!?!" in asterisk console when I try to
put a call on hold.
I don't the reason and I'm sure the relative module is loaded.
In musiconhold.conf I put these lines, trying something I found in some
previous post:

drop manitu.net
listadmin,
Can you PLEASE, PLEASE find *any* other blacklist than manitu? This
asshole's method was ok a dozen years ago; these days, with hosting sites
hosting tens or hundreds of thousands of domains, with too many running
Windows, and so infected and sending out spam. They then send all mail via
one mailhost, with the result that those of us with *no* spam coming out
are frequently

Apache Changing IPtables C 5.6 via Apache
When a web site is attacked, so far by unsuccessful hackers, my error
routine adds the attackers IP address, prefixed by 'deny', to that web
site's .htaccess file. It works and the attacker, on second and
subsequent attacks, gets a 403 error response.
I want to extend the exclusion ability to every web site hosted on a
server. My preferred method is iptables. However, when

TIP for broken ARIN whois
This works for me on Centos 5.6. It may assist newcomers to the Linux
world of Centos.
whois 51.51.51.51
produces a normal and conventional display of data.
However since ARIN, the North American registrar of IP addresses,
"modernised" its WHOIS processing, a query to
whois 64.64.64.64
will produce a one line summary of possible matches, which always
includes ARIN, but omits the

(c 5.6) Running 2 versions of Apache ?
Just wondering how to run 2 versions of Apache on the same server,
listening on different IPs and both on port 80.
Does one give them, the httpd, different names and effectively duplicate
most of the Apache set-up ?
I use Apache;s virtual hosts facility for normal purposes but this is
for a different project.
Thank you.
Paul.

Centos 5.6 : No YUM Updates ?
Always Used to seeing regular GUI notices of updates, I also noticed the
absence of any.
Applications
System Tools
Software Updater
produces none. Neither does
yum update
yet there was on this List a recent warning about about an Apache
vulnerability.

OpenSSL Advisory affects Exim
OpenSSL is one of the two available implementations of the TLS
protocol in Exim. The other is GnuTLS. In the output of { exim
-bV } is a line "Support for:"; if it does not include "OpenSSL"
then you are not affected.
The OpenSSL advisory covers two issues:
(1) CVE-2011-3207: CRL validation with expired CRLs

Installing VirtualBox-4.1* on Centos 5.6 X64, I get at the end:-

(Centos 5.6) Server Time NTP Facility
Curiously examining some of the blocked IP addresses in the daily
Logwatch report, I notice strange sites attempting to connect to our
servers on port 123 (the time port).
I also notice our servers successfully contacting official time
references centres which are not those sites trying to connect to us. I
notice too the installed time software is listening on every available
IP. I can not
