I use 'User Manger for Domain' on a NT4 member server to access the SAMof the Samba 3.0.0 PDC. It retrieves all the user and group accounts perfectly. "map to guest = bad password" not working as expected
Hi all, I had been trying to use "map to guest = bad password" to map users from other domains to guest to allow only guest access. But when I try to access the samba server from another domain, I get an error saying that it is not authorized from that machine. I am attaching the smb.conf. Please let me know if I am doing anything wrong. [global] idmap uid = 70000-200000 idmap

Query on Using initramfs
Hi I am looking at inserting functions in the early user space and want to use initramfs for this. I understand this can be achieved using 'initrd' or by making changes in the 'usr/gen_init_cpio.c' file. Can someone kindly give me pointers as to how to go about this. I am looking at the 2.6.x kernel. Thanks Rachita.

calling external .EXE file in R macOSX
Hi All, I am currently working on an analysis which requires a call to an external FORTRAN routine contained within a file called MCDS.EXE. This file is usually called from within a WINDOWS program called DISTANCE. I have some R script from the developers of the original software which apparently makes a call to this .EXE file which i need to re-engineer slightly, but i am having

slow computation of mixed ANOVA using aov
Dear R-help list, I am trying to do a mixed ANOVA on a 8960 x 5 dataframe. I have 3 factors for which I want to test all main effects and interactions : f1 (40 levels), f2 (7 levels), and f3 (4 levels). I also have a subject factor, subject, and a dependent variable, dv. Some more information about the factors: f2 is a between-subject factor. That is, for each level of f2 there are 8 nested

Shaping incoming traffic?
I would like to differentiate incoming traffic streams to guarantee minimum bandwidth to some services. However, as per the Adv-Routing-HOWTO it appears that only outgoing traffic can be shaped. Is this correct or is there a way of shaping incoming traffic? The problem could possibly be overcome if there is a way of routing traffic through a virtual host. Any tips on how to go about that? --

Offline Deduplication for Btrfs
Here are patches to do offline deduplication for Btrfs. It works well for the cases it''s expected to, I''m looking for feedback on the ioctl interface and such, I''m well aware there are missing features for the userspace app (like being able to set a different blocksize). If this interface is acceptable I will flesh out the userspace app a little more, but I believe the
