DTrace typewriter
G''Day Folks,
I''ve found another use of dtrace, this makes your console keyboard
sound like a typewriter.
http://www.brendangregg.com/DTrace/typewriter-0.70.tar.gz
I''ve only tested it on an UltraSPARC 5 and a Pentium laptop so far, more
to follow.
Ok, sorry, not actually a practical use of DTrace. :)
Enjoy!

Sweave documents have corrupted double quotes
I'm attaching a file foo.Rnw and I'm hoping some of you might run it
through your R & latex systems to find out if the double-quotes in
typewriter font turn out as black boxes (as they do for me). If you
don't use Sweave, but you have a system with a working version of R
and LaTeX, the file gives the instructions you need to use to process
the file. The

Hi,
here's again my proposal for adapter (thin) interrupt support for virtio-ccw
devices, originally posted at

The document is unchanged, only rebased against current master.

Domains, vpn and bowse lists (samba 4.2)
Hi!
I apologize, if the questions are simple, but its been a long time
since I use Windows as enhanced typewriter only. The need to implement
domain etc arose just suddenly.
I am trying to implement VPN (and succeeded to implement it), even
able to join windows clients to the Samba AD domain over VPN, but I am
confused by not getting the browse list of computers for the network I

[PATCH RFC] Adapter interrupts for virtio-ccw.
Hi,
here's a proposal to support adapter (aka thin) interrupts for virtio-ccw.
The basic idea is to make host->guest signalling on s390 more lightweight.
Normal I/O interrupts have two parts: an interrupt that is made pending on
any of the guest cpus, and status that is made pending on the subchannel.
This means that we need two exits for every interrupt.
With adapter interrupts, only

scp
Hello -
I am trying to use scp (openssh_3.0), but every time I run it, I get the following error:
stty: Not a typewriter
When I run it with -v , it shows that authentication (pub key) succeeds, but it fails to read the file. If anybody has a clue as to what's going on here, any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

decimal points midline
Hi, does anyone know how to make decimal points midline when plotting? The journal to which we are going to submit a manuscript require this particular formatting, and it gives direction how to do this on PC: hold down ALT key and type 0183 on the number pad
Thanks

BSafe toolkits for implementing RSA public key algorithm
Has anyone had any experience with any of the BSafe toolkits that are
available and contain support for the RSA public key algorithms? I would
like to use one of RSA's toolkits in a port of a Windows OpenSSH client that
I am working on, in order to avoid any licensing issues from RSA. Can anyone
recommend a good toolkit? I understand that there a number of them, such as

Minor GUI Issues
Some minor request for the R on Windows (2000) GUI version. I'm using
1.5.1 with the SDI interface.
(1) When minimized, the main R window and the graphics window show as two
copies of the same icon. That makes it less convenient to switch among
tasks in Windows, as I often select the wrong one. Could they have
different icons in the future, please?

Some questions: Release Notes CentOS 5.6
Hello
A couple of days ago, I did the Spanish translation for ReleaseNotes
CentOS 5.6
and I have some questions
Right now, in the Spanish version we are using nice icons for "Notes".
Would you like the same in the English and other translated versions ?
(I know that is not important, just looks nice ;-) )
On many places we mention packages names or file names. I suggest

PAM & Configure
I have just checked in a change which makes PAM support optional and
disabled by default. Previously PAM support was detected and enabled
automatically if found.
The change was made because there is no workable way to make PAM work
'out of the box'. Each vendor implements PAM a little differently and
there appears to be no standard on the naming of modules or the augments
they take.

Hi,
I'm not so far, by now, of publicly releasing the next version of our
web site which is extensively using Xapian, so I thought it was time to
say "thank you" by adding in the footer and in the "credits" page of my
site the Xapian logo with a link back to the Xapian web site.
I was surprised to discover how hard it was for me to find how to do...
