Longitudinal analysis: contrasting time points
...here is an intervention going on over time. The outcome
variable is continuous. Now I'd like to analyse two things:
1. Is there a significant change over time? I think this is done by a
mixed-effects model with time as an independent variable (also called
growth-curves according to Jos W.R. Twisk 2006).
2. I want to build contrasts between the years (i.e., time points). Thus,
I'd like to know which years are different from each other. Normally, I
would do an ANOVA with a TukeyHSD-posthoc test, but I'm not sure how to do
this with repeated measurements over time and a nested desi...

Samba as a PDC in a citrix environment
...docs it is not a good idea to use
one of this servers as a PDC/BDC, I can imagine that (we wouldn`t want to give
NT to much responsebilities).
so my question is.... can I use Samba (2.2.4 prefered) as PDC for my citrix
servers and if so should I use LDAP to accomplisch this??

badtrans virus
I've gotten 4 e-mails from this list today from people who were sending
out this virus. It appears to be spreading rather quickly. I would
urge all of you to update your virus software and get rid of this bug
quickly.
Thanks,

longitudinal tobit regression in R
Hi,
I am trying to model a score over time. This score shows a ceiling effect. I was
willing to use a longitudinal tobit model, such as the one described by Twisk et
al. (Twisk_Longitudinal tobit regression: A new approach to analyze outcome
variables with floor or ceiling effects_JCE_2009) but it is programmed for
STATA.
Has anyone used such models in R?
Any other idea?

Force group on create of a file.
...of a file or directory only?
I want to use this to make a more efficient use of unic permissions.
If I use 'Force Group' then I cannot use the 'other' permission
rights anymore in unix.
I use a debian distribution (2.1) with Samba version 1.9.18p10-7
Any ideas?

Multiple login failures problem
I am yet another person who is having a problem with Win98 clients
needing to make several attempts before successfully logging in
to our Samba box. I get the "broken pipe" message in the smb.log
just like everyone else.
This did not seem to be a problem until we got a phat broadband
connection. All the Windows boxes are set to point to our ISP's DNS.
I am not running DNS on the

few secconds (5-10sec) and hit F5 again, then they are back, If I press

I'm Using Debian 2.1 (2.0.36 kernel, and samba version 1.9.18p10)
Any clues here?

directory mask = 2770
Hello everyone.
I am using Samba 2.0.7 on a RedHat 6.2 machine. I wanted to apply a
directory mask of 2770 to everything created in a share. The root
directory of this share already has these permissions. I want to have it
so that everything created in a certain directory has the permissions of
the group of the creator.
As it stands, I do have the directory mask = 2770 line in the smb.conf

smbd and login scripts
Hello
I've two strange problems:
- smbd
I've attached you my smb.conf, inetd.conf and my log file. Sometimes smbd and
nmbd run and somtimes only nmbd run (I check it with ps -ax). But I have
access over my shares (I test it with my Win95 machine). Also in my log
file there're some error messages (I don't now from where the came).
- login scripts
My scripts won't run but if
