One screen disabled on login with NVIDIA TwinView
Hi
Is anyone here using NVIDIA display drivers and a TwinView configuration
on their systems? I've got a bit of an issue with such a setup, which
started occurring after a recent driver update: I have a laptop that's
normally connected to an external monitor (a Samsung SyncMaster), where
this monitor and the built-in display on the laptop are set...

WoW + Wine + Twinview = Annoying jumping cursor
Ok, this isn't really a simple thing to describe so I'll state the basic problem first and things I've noticed that are most likely associated with it.
The problem is while playing World of Warcraft on a Twinview activated X-Server, the camera will do random jumps around my character when the mouse is clicked.
Now by 'random' I actually mean a few things:
1. This doesn't happen on every mouse click and will not happen for some periods of time or will happen over and over in a short period of...

Multi-monitor TwinView DirectX wierdness
I'm hoping somebody can tell me how to fix this. I use Altium Designer 10 with Wine on Fedora 14. I'm using nVidia TwinView with a GeForce GTS450. What happens is that when I have the window on my left screen, I have 3D acceleration, but the GDI text overlays disappear. When I move the window to the right hand screen, I lose 3D acceleration, but my GDI text overlays (PCB trace net names) reappear. Is this some function...

Compiz not working properly using nvidia twinview
Hi,
I am running ubuntu 7.10 gutsy, and I have compiz working on one monitor
( a bit slow though ). When I add twinview to the mix compiz still comes
up, and sort of works but:
1. I loose the background and it is replace by all white
2. The second monitor draws about 30% of the new white background,
then it ends with a bit of a shadow, and then it continues with black
3. I can drag windows on...

Twinview and wine explorer /desktop
The command I run (important bits):-
Code:
wine explorer /desktop=civ4,1280x800 Civ4BeyondSword.exe
My system has twinview running, an external monitor (1280x1024) and my laptop LCD (1280x800). Gnome sees it as one large monitor of 2560x1024, my monitor is on the left, my LCD on the right. Even though I start wine from the laptop monitor, it starts up (with indicated resolution) on the external monitor.
If I use 1280x...

Steam Popcap games on nVidia TwinView
I seem to be having a video update issue with Popcap games on Steam using Twinview. Has anyone else run into this problem? (I did try to search for a resolution of the issue, but perhaps my search mojo is lacking.)
Situation: Run Steam, Install game (Insaniquarium! Delux), Start Game
Symptom: Game starts windowed. Display only updates when I click on it. (i.e Click on Option...

Eve Online, compiz and Twinview
Hello,
As a Gentoo user i met an issue regarding Eve Online (maybe other games, I don't play that much).
For years, I've been using compiz (0.8.4) to enable fullscreen on a single display (dual display using TwinView), as I have serious issues using xinerama.
To do so, I'm using a compiz window rule checking for every EVE titled app.
But the trick do not work anymore since wine 1.3.36 . . .
I tried many tricks (type, id . . . ) without success.
Do anybody have advise or tricks so I can use newer versio...

Place Windows TwinView Bug
In my current setup, using Compiz Fusion under Ubuntu with TwinView (Xgl w/
Xinerama flag set), I've noticed some strange behavior coming from the Place
Windows plug-in.
First off, under Compiz, windows are placed depending on what screen they're
executed from, i.e. execute gedit from the left monitor and it positions
there, execute it from the right monit...

TwinView (on NVIDIA graphics card)?
Hi,
Is anyone here using TwinView with NVIDIA graphics drivers under CentOS
5? Just tried this configuration (I've been using dual monitors as
separate X screens in the past), and while it works in a sense, there
are a few issue that will probably prevent me from using it for real.
Notably, which screen new applications start o...

Setting Resolution Modes in xorg.conf
I asked on the Gentoo forums, and surprisingly haven't gotten an answer.
When I run xrandr, I get this output:
Code:
Screen 0: minimum 2960 x 1050, current 2960 x 1050, maximum 2960 x 1050
default connected 2960x1050+0+0 0mm x 0mm
2960x1050 50.0*
I'm using TwinView with a 1680x1050 monitor and a 1280x1024 monitor. And I want to set up some different modes in xrandr. When I try playing Counter Strike: Source in wine, it won't let me change the resolution because xrandr only has that one mode, and I was told I needed to set up Xorg to do other resolutions...

Thanks, Mark, B.J., the elrepo route worked. There was a small hitch in that the "Twinview" option wasn't available (it was present but grayed out) on the NVidia control panel, but entering nvidia-xc...

This suggests that you have Dynamic TwinView enabled, which causes xrandr to report the refresh rate as a unique identifier representing a particular display mode rather than the actual refresh rate that is used for that display mode. More details on Dynamic TwinView are available in Chapter 13 (http://kr.download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x8...

X11 device distortion (PR#10666)
Full_Name: Thomas Zumbrunn
Version: 2.6.1
OS: GNU/Linux (openSuse 10.3 2.6.22.13-0.3-default)
Submission from: (NULL) (131.152.125.199)
With my particular X11 settings, the width to height ratio of the x11 device is
distorted, with the width being half that of the height. This results in wrongly
proportioned plots, wrongly positioned text etc.
Other devices are not affected.

Bonjour,
I have two monitors and an nvidia graphic card. I uses the nvidia
proprietary driver from rpmfusion and have configured the system to
use the twinview option.
I need to load an icc profile for each screen (they are not exactly
the same) and this seems to be impossible under this configuration....
Am I right?
So I changed my config: separate screens + xinerama
With this config, I can load one icc profile for each screen *but*
when I have to use...

Dual Monitor setup on CentOS 6?
Hi.
Is anyone here running CentOS 6 with dual monitors configured as a
single X Screen?
I'm trying such a setup on version 5 (again), using NVIDIA TwinView, and
it works in many ways, but there are a number of problems that means
it's not too usable - the most important one being that there appears to
be no way to control which of the displays new applications/windows will
appear on. I mean, I don't necessarily need to be able to configure...
