Exclude data using logical
Hi,
I'm wanting to exclude data more than 2 sd's from the mean before proceeding
with further analyses. I've created new logical variables (a and b) and
written them to the existing dataframe. I want to be able to subset the TRUE
observations based on another 2 factor variable. I'm assuming this is
possible, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong, as I get results that

appending data to a row
For an analysis of data from twins, I'd like to do some rearranging in my
dataframe. Currently, each twin has his or her own row. I'd like to add
several columns of the co-twin's data to each row. In other words, this is
the current situation:
FamilyID ParticipantID IQ Digit_span
1 1 95 6
1 2 93 7
2 3 102 8

R package that has (much) the same capabilities as SAS v9 PROC GENMOD
I need capabilities, for my data analysis, like the Pinheiro & Bates
S-Plus/R package nlme() but with binomial family and logit link.
I need multiple crossed, possibly interacting fixed effects (age cohort of
twin when entered study, sex of twin, sampling method used to acquire twin
pair, and twin zygosity), a couple of random effects other than the cluster
variable, and the ability to

Can R handle twin peaks - normal distribution
Hi R Users,
Sorry if its out of topic. I would like to ask you about twin peaks -
normal distribution. How R can handle it, any example to explain it in
R.
Thanks,

constraining correlations
Hello,
I've searched for an answer to no avail. I am wondering if anyone
knows how to constrain certain correlations to be equal. I have family
data with 2 twins per family plus up to 2 siblings. I would like to
somehow constrain all the sibling correlations (twin-sib and sib-sib)
to be the same while allowing the twin-twin correlation to be
different. Here is some simulated code:

lme object manipulation
Hello:
I have an lme object, say lme_res2, which was generated using the varIdent. I'm trying to extract the double 1.532940 from the object, but I can't find it by attributes(lme_res2) or attributes(summary(lme_res2)). How can I pull it out (so that I can save it to another variable)? Thanks.

Wayne and twin
Hi,
I haven't seen recent information on wine and twain.
I already sent a similar mail to wine-users and, in a second step to
wine-devel, but without any information back until now.
May be the trick "Wine and twain" to "Wayne and twin" will give me more
chance to be listen. Or may be my question is really stupid?

realtime backup with LDA?
Hello everyone,
i was reading the dovecot-lda documentation as i'm using LDA as a
delivery agent on my current mailserver configuration.
I was curious to know if there are some options for having a message to
be delivered to a "twin mailbox" upon delivery.
this twin mailbox would work as a backup archive for recovering emails
in case the user accidentally deletes them.

Maybe not the latest 8.1 but 7.7 is quite recent and stable.

thats fairly new stuff, and centos 6 is pretty old now.

Problems with Wine and twin view
Hello all,
I'm using wine 1.3.11 on gentoo and i'm having some problems
As far as i understand, in order to stop games spanning on both of my monitors i have to add a metamode in xorg.conf.
So i've edited my xorf.conf to:
Code:
Option "metamodes" "CRT: 1280x1024_75 +1920+0, DFP: 1920x1080_60 +0+0; DFP: 1920x1080_60 +0+0, CRT: NULL"
This is fine for

Twin HDMI
Hello,
I have an Intel NUC7PJYH running CentOS 6.8. This is a NUC with standard USB, 1GbE and 2*HDMI.
Installation was no problem providing acpi=off.
The problem is that by default the two displays are mirrored and I can?t seem to separate them.
I can only see one HDMI port from CentOS.
I need to see both HDMI ports discreetly.
Can you please help.

Generalised Estimating Equations on approx normal outcome with limited range
Dear R users
I am analysing data from a group of twins and their siblings. The measures
that we are interested in are all correlated within families, with the
correlations being stronger between twins than between non-twin siblings.
The measures are all calculated from survey answers and by definition have
limited ranges (e.g. -5 to +5), though within the range they are
approximately normally
