IPv6 docs, howtos, descriptions
I know...google...BUT: Does someone has good howtos, docs, descriptions, opinions in forums, or similar things about IPv6 and "related things"? I just think it would be a very good idea to collect some links about it... Regards, and thank you in anticipation -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

IPv6, HE tunnel and ip6tables problems
CentOS 5.5, fully patched. I have a HE tunnel (tunnelbroker.net) IPv6 tunnel. This works pretty well and is simple to setup. Everything works fine. Until I try to set up an ip6tables firewall. eg if I try to view https://dnssec.surfnet.nl/?p=464 then the page never displays and the firewall shows kernel: IN=sit1 OUT=eth0 SRC=2001:0610:0001:40cd:0145:010...

DHCP with ipv6 tunnel
...; Motorola Surfboard Cable Router -> CentOS 6.5 server The CentOS server is multi-homed and manages the internal 192.168.x.x network by offering DHCP and firewall service (NATting and others.) DNS lookups are going to Comcast's servers. I have an IPV6 tunnel through Hurricane Electric (www.tunnelbroker.net). The tunnel is configured and is up and running on the CentOS server. I can ping several IPV6 addresses from it just fine: ping6 -n ipv6.google.com PING ipv6.google.com(2607:f8b0:400f:801::1006) 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 2607:f8b0:400f:801::1006: icmp_seq=1 ttl=53 time=109 ms 64 bytes from...

Dovecot Or Debian, Boot-Time Error "Can't assign requested address"
Hi all, I have a really weird problem, which for now I have solved by just binding to the IPv6 wildcard address "::". Using the latest packages from Debian unstable (1.x series), I set up a tunnel with tunnelbroker.net for IPv6. I assign two of the delegated addresses in my /48 using IP aliases in /etc/network/interfaces to my ethernet interface (eth0 and eth0:1). All other servers start and run, binding to the primary address (eth0) assigned. The packet forwarder is not necessary, so it isn't turned o...

Howto install Centos6/7 Comcast WA/OR
Has anyone managed to install a Centos6 or Centos7 in Washington or Orgegon, or anywhere else that Comcast has deployed the IPV6to4 routers. The router in question is a Xfinity DCP3939 Router with Wireless, and I'm trying to get a Centos system working behind that router (with a wired connection), and enable SSH access from outside. Does one have to enable both IPV6 and IPV4? Can I

RE: OT (a little): IPV6 Ramifications Article
Hi guys, I know it's a little off topic but......Wondering if you can help. My wife has been asked to find a writer to produce a story on "The dramatic ramifications of IPV6 on commercial businesses and how it will change the product designs for ordinary household/commercial use in a 5-10 year time frame" So her company hired someone who should have been able to deliver the

transition to ip6
I imagine some day in the near future there will be a switch to ipv6. I cannot imagine ever remembering the ip address then...crazy. My question, since i have never done ip6 stuff, is what does that mean on my webservers? Would I just need to replace my ip4 with ip6 in my eths, bonds, bridges, and configuration files...and copy out my iptables to ip6tables, and change the dns servers? all

IPV4 is nearly depleted, are you ready for IPV6?
Seeing as IPV4 is near it's end of life (http://www.internetnews.com/infra/article.php/3915471/IPv4+Nearing+Final+Days.htm), I'm curios as who know whether everyone is ready for the changeover to IPV6? Is anyone using it in production already, and what are your experiences with it? -- Kind Regards Rudi Ahlers SoftDux Website: http://www.SoftDux.com Technical Blog:
