Can't see shares on a server member
Hi team, I'm dealing with AS/U as a member server on a Samba 3.0.20 PDC. Jonction seems ok, and from the member server I can see PDC's shares (with net view) and authenticate user (with net logon user passwd /domain:domainname). On the other side, I fell into timeout when running smbclient -L member from the PDC. Here is a log.nmbd loglevel 10 from PDC as there is no other log

Possible memory leak in smbd?
I noticed one of my smbd processes for one particular client (IUSR_JUNIPER) is taking 200MB in memory, far different from all the other smbd processes. Should I be concerned about a memory leak here? I don't think samba would be caching any files, so I can't see why it'd use this much memory. That windows client is a win2k IIS5 server, with well over 60 sites that are hosted off a

Assigning Week Numbers
R experts, How could I extract the week number from a date vector (in Date class) such that week numbering (week 1...2...) begins (May 01) and ends (October 31) on the same specific dates each year? Week numbering must conform to the following day numbering format (Sat=1,Sun=2,Mon=3.....Fri=7). This means that new weeks must begin on Saturdays, and end on Fridays (except for the first date

counting weekday in a month in R
Hi, I am trying to count weekday of the month using R. For example, 1/4/2001 is the 4th weekday of Jan, and 1/5/2001 is the 5th weekday of the month, and 1/8/2001 is the 6th weekday of the month, etc. I get as far as extracting the weekdays from a sequence of dates (see below). But I have not yet figured out a fast way of counting without using a For Loop. Does anyone know how to do such counting

samba 2.2.7a and multiple logins...
Hello I use a new samba server with LDAP support as PDC for some Windows2000 and WindowsXP machines. All is working nice. The useer can login with a user/password in the domain, we have remote profiles, the user can access the samba shares and print etc. But after some time (< 1 day) we get a smbstatus output like the attached file. Users are connected multiple times with the same share

smbstatus show open files when none are
I recently (a few weeks ago) installed 1.9.18p8 in order to get better performance with an Access Database, which along with adding a TCP_NODELAY in the [global] section has that working like a charm. Thing that's bugging me now is smbstatus. When I run it I see open files listed when I know that they aren't. The following output shows quite a few files open that aren't really. The

Hate to say that we're running out of options. I had a CentOS 7 system similar to yours, with LDAP authentication. I added three lines to sssd.conf (for access provider, etc), restarted sssd, and

Replica 3 with arbiter - heal error?
Hello, I have a Gluster 3.8.13 with replica 3 arbiter volume mounted and run there a following script: while true; do echo "$(date)" >> a.txt; sleep 2; done After few seconds I add a rule to the firewall on the client, that blocks access to node specified during mount e.g. if volume is mounted with: mount -t glusterfs -o backupvolfile-server=10.0.0.2 10.0.0.1:/vol /mnt/vol I

winbindd running amok
Hi, on a customer system samba/winbindd is used for windows and unix authentication. I just tuned searches of the ldap backend to speedup by factor 20-200 and slapd now doesn't seem to be the bottleneck anymore. Don't know how well the windows authentication now works, since this is presently done by the heartbeat failover server. However, simply starting 'mc' as root makes

Wireless Production Servers Authentication of Active Directory with Inconsistent NTLM Auth Failures
Hi I work for a medium sized University and have recently set up some new infrastructure to authenticate our wireless users of Active Directory. Every thing was working as expected or so I thought. I set up a monitoring script that performs an ntlm_auth every minute and it shows that the authentication is failing inconsistently but for around 5 minutes at a time (see below). There are two

that's intersting. "performing access check" is really missing. also the "sdap_access" lines are not there. Therefore i do have: (Tue May 12 13:16:20 2015) [sssd[be[default]]] [dp_get_options] (0x0400): Option ldap_access_filter has no value (Tue May 12 13:16:20 2015) [sssd[be[default]]] [dp_get_options] (0x0400): Option ldap_access_order has value host (Tue May 12
