mhh, this looks a little fishy and might be a mistake not using this function.
Ben, is it safe to remove it? The code seems to be slightly different
things, but also looks like it needs to be rewritten a little anyway...

[PATCH] drm/nouveau: Add correct turing page kinds

kinds from 256 to 16. It also is the first
NVIDIA GPU in which the highest possible page
kind value is not reserved as an "invalid" page
kind.
To address this, the invalid page kind is made
an explicit property of the MMU HAL, and a new
table of page kinds is added to the tu102 MMU
HAL.
One hardware change not addressed here is that
0x00 is technically no longer a supported page
kind, and pitch surfaces are instead intended to
share the block-linear generic page kind 0x06.
However, because that will be a rather invasive
change to nouveau and 0x00 still works fine in

[PATCH v2] drm/nouveau: don't detect DSM for non-NVIDIA device
...use we're detecting NVIDIA's DSM, it doesn't make sense to run
this detection on a non-NVIDIA device anyway. Thus, check at the
beginning of the detection code if this is an NVIDIA card, and just
return if it isn't.
This, together with commit d22915d22ded ("drm/nouveau/devinit/tu102-:
wait for GFW_BOOT_PROGRESS == COMPLETED") developed independently and
landed earlier, fixes runtime power management of the NVIDIA card in
Lenovo Legion 5-15ARH05. Without this patch, the GPU resumption code
will "timeout", sometimes hanging userspace.

[PATCH] nouveau/gsp: don't check devinit disable on GSP.
