...nding logging info to the all of the ttys, as it makes doing anything on the box near impossible with the firewall running. I did a man syslog.conf, and then looked in the /etc/syslog.conf. I commented out the xconsole stuff, and uncommented the part where he (joey) says he likes to output to /dev/tty8 (which is what I want to do as well). So I ran asterisk in 'script' and cut a line containing some blue text (Registered application 'Exec', the word Exec is in blue) and sent it to all my virtual consoles. Anyway, I changed to boot to run level 5, start a phony session (i.e. login with an I.D. that is resevred to do nothing at all), do logout->switch user, which starts a session on tty7 where I login, again for tty8 and again for tty9 which gets me operating as is my habit with three different user-IDs on ttys 7-9. Konrad, et al, I am seeing visual corruption (almost like an interlacing problem) with i915 under Xen on some platforms using linux-3.8. See attached file for an example of the visual corruption. This particular platform is an HP Elitebook 2540p The same kernel and ramdisk, when booted as native linux does not show this corruption. dmesg is attached, as well (out.txt) - but I did not see

I have a CentOS 5 machine in which I'm trying to remove lvm. I dd'ed the file system to another partition, then dd'ed it back overwriting the lvm partition. I then modified menu.lst and fstab and replaced the paths to point to the correct device. When the system boots it's still looking for lvm. I can restore the system back to where it was with lvm, but I'm not sure what
