n Realizations of a Stochastic Process assigned to dynamically generated variable names?
I am interested in creating multiple (say 1000) time series, from a
given stochastic process, of length 250. I want to refer to each
realization with its own variable name, of the format say, tsn, where
n is the n'th simulation. i.e. ts1, ts2, ts3, ts4, .... , ts1000
The way I am thinking of doing this is placing the following code
within another loop, and the 'tsn' assignment should happen as ts1 and
so on, the n being taken from the iteration of the outer loop.
However, cruci...

Problem accessing to Windows Terminal Server in load balancing.
...1/24 TS1
192.168.0.2/24 TS2
192.168.0.3/24 TS3
192.168.0.10/24 (TS server IP for load balancing)
The problem I encountered is that every PC into the LAN has access from
the LAN to every TS (tested with ping), but them have no access to the IP
for load balancing.
I observed that all TSn IP's has their ARP entry in the ARP table, but the
IP for load balancing not.
How can I solve this problem at the bridge level? I think that there is
something that the bridges are filtering and perhaps is because the TS
load balancing software uses various "virtual macs" for the loa...

Thanks for any help you can provide.

file locking question
Hi all,
If I have a linux server running samba for filesharing and I use NFS to
make these shares available on another linux server that also runs samba
to share the same shares will the locking still work properly?
I can use this to get around an issue with multiple authentication
domains and I suspect NFS is less chatty than SMB anyway so will mean a
peformance win as well across the WAN.

I was hesitant to introduce this without studying the feasibility of
doing late segmentation.

Font size in geom_dl (using ggplot2)
Hey everyone,
I am an R-newby... so sorry for bothering you with simple-to-solve
questions;) I have the following issue: trying to add labels to my
scatterplots (with geom_dl in ggplot2). Everything works fine, but after
checking every resource I do not find a way to change the font size of my
labels. I tried size, cex, fontsize at every position... but it always stays
the same.

TCP_NODELAY or not
Hi,
Why not turn off TCP_NODELAY in OpenSSH, atleast in the server->client
direction? If a user is doing 'ls -l' over an Internet link that has
some latency, he/she is flooded with a burst of small packets that
can cause congestion and packet loss.
Quite many people have been noticing this behaviour when doing ls -l
resulting in <output> <delay> <output>

X instability
Hi all,
How does X server work well on dom0 in general?
I''m experiencing frequently drawn gabages and sometimes crashes
and hangs (100% cpu) of certain X applications.
Usually on my deskstop, gnome-panel, sawfish, krxvt, firefox,
and gkrellm are only present.
gnome-panel (and some applets) and firefox crash sometimes.
Sawfish in addition to the two above draws garbage.

Samba serving sshfs shares: can't delete files
Hello!
I have samba share on my sshfs-mounted folder. All works just fine
except I can't delete files from sshfs unless they are in 0777 chmodded
directory. Even if that files were putted trough smbclient. I can read
files, write files (regardless their directory permissions) but not
delete them.
Here is my share config:
