using subscripts in a plot title with 2 lines
Hi,
I'm making a plot in which the title takes up two lines. The title
contains a subscript but when I look at the plot it does'nt seem tocome
out properly. The code I'm using is:
xtxt = expression(paste('Observed -log( ', IC[50], ' )'))
ytxt = expression(paste('Predicted -log( ', IC[50], ' )'))
mtxt = expression(paste('Plot of Observed

[Bridge] [PATCH][RFC] bridge-utils: add basic VEPA support
This patch adds basic Virtual Ethernet Port Aggregator (VEPA)
capabilities to the Linux Ethernet bridging utilities.
The patch provides functionality that depends on the Linux kernel
patch 'net/bridge: add basic VEPA support'.
This patch relies on the patch 'bridge-utils: fix sysfs path for
setting bridge configuration parameters'.

ffmpeg2theora start and end time support - patch
After posting my previous mail, I realized that i should instead post a
patch against HEAD. This is because v0.12 was released while I was also
changing ffmpeg2theora.c from v0.11. So please use this patch instead and
apply it to version at http://svn.xiph.org/trunk/ffmpeg2theora

R-Terminal
Hi there!
I use an gnome-terminal for using R. When I resize the termial to the
maximum size, R uses only the left side of the window. Can I tell R to
use the whole window somehow?
Thanks,
Martin

Gnu Screen - terminal issues
I really like gnu screen and use it everyday but there's one thing
that is a bit inconvenient, and that's the odd line wrapping and
terminal size issues that seem to pop up. The problem crops up when I
type or paste a really long command, and then go back and try to edit
it; the text starts to wrap over itself and you have no idea what you
are editing. Any fixes for this?

[Bridge] [PATCH] bridge-utils: Add 'hairpin' port forwarding mode
This patch adds a 'hairpin' (also called 'reflective relay') mode
port configuration to the Linux Ethernet bridge utilities.
A bridge supporting hairpin forwarding mode can send frames back
out through the port the frame was received on.
Hairpin mode is required to support basic VEPA (Virtual
Ethernet Port Aggregator) capabilities.
You can find additional information on VEPA

[patch] more ffmpeg2theora improvements
Hi,
the attached patch (against current SVN) adds three new options to
ffmpeg2theora: --keyint (set keyframe interval) --smoothness (set the
theora_info::sharpness encoding parameter) and --noautosync (disable the
new frame dropping/duplicating code).
It also fixes a bug with the processing of --cropright that sometimes
segfaulted. The sync adjustment code is now tuned to be more reliable.

ffmpeg2theora start and end time support
For last few days I was trying to learn ffmpeg and libtheora API. In the
process, I have modified ffmpeg2theora code to include support for start
time and end time.
ffmpeg2theora -s 60 -e 130 file.avi
will produce file.ogg which will be from 60th to 130th second of input
file (something like -ss and -endpos in mencoder). This is a useful
feature for someone who wants to cut a part of video

How to install programs in wine?
I am a rank newbie to Linux and wine.
I am running Ubuntu Dapper on an AMD 1800 mhz machine, wine 0.9.15
Everything I have read says use the installer to load windows programs.
Where is the installer?
Thanks,

[PATCH][BTRFS-PROGS][V3] btrfs filesystem df
Hi Chris,
this serie of patches updated the command "btrfs filesystem
df". I update this command because it is not so easy to get
the information about the disk usage from the command "fi df" and "fi show".
This patch was the result of some discussions on the btrfs
mailing list. Many thanks to all the contributors.
From the man page (see 2nd patch):

[Bridge] RFC: [PATCH] bridge vlan integration
Hi,
The attached patches enables the bridge to filter and forward packets
according to their IEEE 802.1q headers. The goals behind this change
include :
- Enable running STP on 802.1q tagged networks. STP packets
must be untagged. It isn't obvious how else to enable STP
with the current bridge and vlan code.
- Add native support for an untagged vlan. Currently an untagged
vlan can
