RFE: dnsbl-support for dovecot
after having my own dnsbl feeded by a honeypot and even
mod_security supports it for webservers i think dovecot
sould support the same to prevent dictionary attacks from
known bad hosts, in our case that blacklist is 100%
trustable and blocks before SMTP-Auth while normal RBL's
are after SASL
i admit that i am not a C/C++-programmer, but i think
doing the DNS request and in case it has a result block
any login attemt should be not too complex
setup a own honeypot and feed rbldnsd with the sources
is quite easy and in c...

A "rude" question
Dear all,
I am beginner using R. I have a question about it. When you use it,
since it is written by so many authors, how do you know that the
results are trustable?(I don't want to affend anyone, also I trust
people). But I think this should be a question.
Thanks,
Ming

Perhaps you may add the trustable domain names as
subkeys to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Software\
Microsoft\
Windows\
CurrentVersion\
Internet Settings\
ZoneMap\
Domains
If the domain you work in and should trust is
yourdom.eu then add a key with that name and put...

online service to host/share theora&vorbis encoded ogg files
...ime limit. unfotunately vimeo doesn't support theora. archive org accepts theora but converts it to mpeg2 for download. rapidshare, yousendit etc all have time and file size limitations. wikimedia doesn't work for me either. i found a service called wikiupload.com but it doesn't seem a trustable service.
shortly i need a service to host/share big theora & vorbis encoded ogg files without time limit that also supports open source ideology. i will share the links of 3 projects i have already done with you as soon as their websites are ready.
thanx for any input

IP drop list
...hat don't matter
if i blacklist a client because he starts a dictionary attack in SMTP i
want it also bock on IMAP without use a dozen of different tools because
teh via IMAP now catched account password will be used for send spam
later when the SMTP RBL entry expires
and frankly that 100% trustable RBL lives *before*
"permit_sasl_authenticated" because it would be pointless anywhere else
ordinary blacklists are score based on the MX, that is a complete
differet machine with no business for POP3/IMAP or even outgoing mail

ldapsearch w. SSL refuses to connect to server with openssl 1.0.1 (worked with openssl 1.0.0)

marked as not trusted by the user..

It /does/ see the certificate, even though it has a problem with it.
Since I know the LDAP server is trustable - despite the certificate
issue -, I can work around it with "TLS_REQCERT never" in
/etc/openldap/ldap.conf or by prefixing the ldapsearch line with
"LDAPTLS_REQCERT=never":
[good]# LDAPTLS_REQCERT=never ldapsearch -H

Hello openssh-unix-dev,
Some time ago I successfully compiled version 3.1 of OpenSSH.
Today I tried new OpenSSH version and I am not able to compile it.
Configuration script runned well. When running make, following error
occured:
make[1]: Entering directory `/tools/openssh-3.4p1/openbsd-compat'

Did i get hacked?
hello,
i have a FreeBSD 4.8-PRERELEASE #0 that i use as a gateway / nat box for
my home.
It also acts as a dns / mail server to the outside world.

I allow everything out keeping state,
and allow this in:
pass in proto icmp from any to any icmp-type squench group 200

Can we trust RedHAt encryption tools?
Recently I have been deeply troubled by evidence revealing the degree to which
U.S. based corporations (well actually all resident in any of the so-called
5-eyes countries) appear to have rolled over and assumed the position with
respect to NSA inspired pressure to cripple public key encryption and
facilitate intrusions into their software products. This has engendered in me
a significant degree

Authentication to Secondary Domain Controller initially fails when PDC is offline

the latter.
What I wrote about NS and SOA came from a discussion I had several weeks
ago with one person managing Bind daily for the company I work for. She
agreed client should not use NS nor SOA but as this is not one of her
problem, this was just thoughts (but her thoughts seems more trustable as
most of mines :D)
