Dovecot 2.0.2 breakes LMTP delivery for me
Hi, I'm onboard Debian Lenny (amd64) and just reverted from 2.0.2-0~auto+4 back to 2.0.1-0~auto+1 because LMTP stopped working completly with the above Package. In my setup delivery is done from exim via LMTP to dovecot (Maildir/ext3). The lmtp dovecot config looks like this: > service lmtp { > user = vmail > inet_listener lmtp { > address = 127.0.0.1 > port = 24

OT: SysAdmin Stories
Hello, I'm compiling a collection of stories from the systems administrator trenches. They can be short or long, funny or about a particularly challenging problem or period, or even something that appeared very technically challenging and ended up being something very simple. Stories which are more political would be ok so long as they do not have an agenda or can be interpreted...

One question about saving graph by using xyplot
Hey, folk. I am trying to get many figures by using the function "xyplot" in the library "lattice". I tried to using the loop to finish it quickly. But I cannot open the saved file after I run the program. But if I use the function "plot" to get other simply figures, it can work. So I want to ask how I can get the saved figures by using "xyplot". The

Mocking User.find( :all, :limit => 10 )
Hi, I''m trying to setup a mock for my controller test but I can''t get it to recognise the mock. I use it "should find all users" do User.should_receive(:find).with( :all, :limit => 10 ).and_return([@user]) do_get end and in the controller @users = User.find(:all, :limit => 10 ) But this does not work. It gives me User expected :find with (:all)

FYI, unless they are specifically about LLVM, general conference postings are off-topic for this list. There are many dozens of conferences for which LLVM is potentially related - we don't want all of them posted to the list! Tha...

...t;infra" group to log into all machines while people in the "development" group can only log into development servers. From an initial Google my options seem to be: * LDAP based netgroups * OpenSSH - AllowGroups, DenyGroups * PAM - mod_access Does anyone have any real world, in the trenches experience they would be willing to share? I would like to know which is the most maintainable and easy to hand-over to more junior admins. Thanks, Fred.

nested, unbalanced anova
Hello, For an experiment, I selected plots of land within a forest either with honeysuckle or without honeysuckle. Thus, my main factor is fixed, with 2 levels: "honeysuckle present"(n=11) and "honeysuckle absent"(n=8). Within each plot of land, I have a "trenched" subplot and an "untrenched" subplot. Within each subplot of every plot, I measured soil

wpkg for Samba
Hello List, This is very much so Samba related but I'm sure there are several people here this would relate to. wpkg is a nice add on to Samba that allows you to mass install Windows software to Windows clients machines as they log onto a Samba server. Today's offerings. I have made a simple binary rpm that installs all of the needed files for both server and client. Thought this may

Sip Node w/ 4 wire audio & AT command set call supervision
I have several discontinued Sierra Wireless MP775 mobile GSM/EDGE radio modems. These devices were originally installed in emergency vehicles to provide data and voice access along with GPS reporting. They have external RF connections for GSM/EDGE and GPS signals. The baseband side includes four wire audio, RS-232 serial, USB and some parallel digital I/O for panic switches etc. GSM voice

Rio Karma mini review
Hello everyone, Stopped by Best Buy last night and picked up a Rio Karma. Since from-the-trenches reviews seem scarce, I thought I might post some thoughts. The short story: I'm probably returning it, will be buying a different portable player. The software doesn't work, and I don't think I wanna screw with it. The long story: It looks cool, is tiny, convenient, s...

Comet/Continuations/Armeggedon
Hello all- Forgive me if this has been discussed before- I searched the archives and didn''t see anything. Anyway, here it goes- There is a lot of talk lately about Comet-based applications- that is, web apps that hold connections to the server open for a very long time, to effectively achieve realtime data push from the server to the browser. Currently, there are a few web

NUT, Linux and libusb
Cheers, Trying to wrap my head around an issue discussed in https://github.com/networkupstools/nut/issues/1925 The gist of it is that despite the usbhid-ups driver running as `root` and seeing most of the regular run-time info, in the initial device search it fails to find basic matching info points - the device vendor, product and sernum strings: ```` 0.289953 [D2] Device does not match

image() or plotting functions or something else broken in 2.0.1 on OS X?
Hello. I just upgraded to 2.01 on Mac OS 10.3.6. I used to use the image() function in 1.9.x. Now, running the example code from the image() help page gives me the following error: > x <- y <- seq(-4*pi, 4*pi, len=27) > r <- sqrt(outer(x^2, y^2, "+")) > image(z = z <- cos(r^2)*exp(-r/6), col=gray((0:32)/32)) 2004-12-02 10:35:27.815 R[2649] *** Assertion

Invert a positive definite symmetric Block Toeplitz Matrix
Is there a function in r that let's you efficiently invert a positive definite symmetric Block Toeplitz matrix? My matrices are the covariance matrices of observations of a multivariate time series and can be 1000*1000 or larger. I know the package 'ltsa' which seems to use the Trench algorithm to compute the inverse of a Toeplitz matrix. I am looking for a so to say
