Hi, Anybody used treenet here? I downloaded a demo but don't know how to
start with. Does R has something like treenet? Thanks,

Data Mining in Europe, please advise
...an Steinberg, is planning to visit Europe in May. He
would like the opportunity to introduce statisticians (and statistically
minded people) to data mining, data mining applications and to forefront
data mining tools. Our algorithms are probably familiar to many
statisticians (CART, MARS, MART, TreeNet and RandomForests), although it
isn't necessary to be a statistician to use our tools. We co-develop
with Jerome Friedman of Stanford University and Leo Breiman of Berkeley.
I am trying to locate people/companies who would benefit from data
mining. If you know of any, I would appreciate it...

Package for Multiple Additive Regression Trees
Hello List,
I've been unsuccessful in tracking down a package that does MART. J
Friedman's website has a page that mentions an R implementation but the
links lead nowhere. There is also a nice walkthru/vignette pdf on his site.
But I can not find this package anywhere. Perhaps it's commercial? Does
anyone know of where it might be available or of any other R package (or

Boosting, bagging and bumping. Questions about R tools and predictions.
...cation trees are increasingly used by the
remote sensing folks but it seems like finding optimal trees is an active
area of research in computational statistics.
I've seen great claims made by baggers and boosters (and just what is
bumping?) of increasing classification accuracy but aside from TreeNet
by Salford Systems I'm not aware of tools that can grow forests of trees
that can then be used to make predictions.
Can anybody help?

Any interest in commercial add-on libraries based on Cyte l's StatXact/LogXact?
Another example: Jerry Friedman's MART is available in R from Salford for
the same price as the stand-alone TreeNet, even though they don't advertise
it on their web site.
