Smbclient cant transer large files
Well, apparently there WAS a change on the Windows Server, which only affected new samba versions
I was able to fix my issue by using this patch: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12776
Can this be officially fixed please?

Smbclient cant transer large files
Hello
I have a problem transferring files >64KB to a Windows share, it worked fine until a few weeks ago (see bottom for information).
The issue seems identical to https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2016-November/204558.html, and I added a Wireshark-Dump which begins directly after
NTLMSSP_AUTH authentication (don't want to add login information).
The error is always "Write AndX

Can I let rsync only transer a part of file within specific byte ranges?
Hi all,
Suppose I have a file on the remote rsync server:
rsync://path/to/myfile
And I want to only retrieve a part of the file based a ranges of bytes to
my local host, say, 0-499, means only transfer the first 500 bytes of
that file.
Is this possible with rsync client?
Regards

If I recall, using the Polycom transfer, you have to make sure it is done as
a blind transfer. The Polycom attended transfer (default) option does not
work.

A doubt
HI
I am working in a project and i needed to know if the combination HTB+SFQ,

transfer, a ftp file transfer, a tftp file transer and a ssh interactive

In all the protocols with file transfer (FTP, HTTP, TFTP) i obtained good

A strange problem with my daily backups performed via rsync
Problem solved.
But I would like to know for my own sake if --delete can be made to work
while preventing a certain directory from deletion in the backup :
rsync -av --delete src dst # but protect dir dst/XYZ from deletion
I tried "--filter 'protect dst/XYZ'" but that does not prevent the
directory dst/XYZ from being deleted.
Thanks for your reply,

Problem copying directories using sftp
Hello!
A couple of days ago I submitted the problem report shown below to the
support forum for WinSCP.
I got a reply (shown at the end of this e-mail) saying that this in part
was a WinSCP problem, but also that there appeared to be something wrong
with the replies from OpenSSH-3.9p1 under AIX 4.3.3.
The full dialog including the reply can be seen at

Rcpp: Clarifying the meaning of GPL?
I wrote the Rcpp library and the RcppTemplate package to make it
easier for developers to contribute packages to the R community.
In addition to providing detailed documentation on
package creation it provides a clean object mapping between
R anc C++ that helps developers to implement packages that
benefit from the performance of C++ and the flexibility of R.
The package named 'Rcpp' was

I feel this is a slap in the face for those of us that have been here and I
don't feel I should HAVE to pay to be certified... I think me and MANY
others are about to walk out of the project over this. I have already
spoken with many people that are close to the project. You're hurting US

Cisco 2620 as PRI gateway
I just inherited a Cisco 2621 with a VWIC-1MFT-T1 card in it. Can I make
this thing into MGCP gateway or even a SIP gateway for asterisk? Seems like
it should bee useful for something!
I'm perfectly happy to do my homework, but also don't feel thee need to
reinvent the wheel! So, links with relevant info would be appreciated. If
there is a config for a 2621 being used as a gateway

CentOS Server Backup Options
What do you guys recommend for backing up a small CentOS server in a
business environment. It will have (3) 300gb drives in a raid 5 array but I
don't anticipate more than about 25gb of data that needs to be backed up
each night.
I want a lot of backups with a rotation scheme that included daily, weekly,
and monthly copies. I want the daily copies of the data kept until the next
week, and
