How to monitoring activity on a card?
My setup 4.9 stable with IPFW. Machine acts as gateway for two machines. What are my options on monitoring activity on my external card? This morning I noticed my DSL modem activity light is blinking non-stop. Looking at /var/log/ don't see anything suspicious. I feel tempted to add "log" to all my ipfw pass rules, but wonder if there isn't a better way. I am mostly concerned

Hi, I have Mandrake 10.0 (official). I have read the section in lartc about "Routing for multiple uplinks/providers", but still I have some queries below. I have a DSL connection where they give pppoe which is directly terminated into eth1 of my Linux box. Now I have another machine connected to dial-up and it is on same LAN connected to eth0 of Linux box. Now, can I use both these

snort, postgres, bridge
...with a pretty generic config, just to ensure things work. The problem appears to be that snort simply doesn't log to the remote postgres box (yes, there are host entries in pg_hba.conf, and other databases are accessible remotely, so I believe that is not the issue). I've just been running trafshow to watch connections. Any hints/pointers/solutions welcome. odd log mesage...looks serious
