How to chain user mouse handlers in rgl
Dear Rglers,
With rgl, I would like to set marker when a button is pressed, but leave the
standard trackball handling otherwise. Thanks to Duncan and Oleg for helping
me handling key down.
How do I say in a custom mouse handler "after having done your work, forward
to standard trackball once only"? The example below shows the idea, but it
works only once, then reverts to standard trackball hand...

wxruby2 problems
...much the new wxruby takes, or am I doing something wrong ?
Note: Alex Fenton answered in the Ruby list that it''s a script2exe bug.
Could you please elaborate on the steps needed to reduce the exe size ?
2) [warning: this is bizarre!] While running a script with a wxruby
GUI, my mouse (trackball, actually) becomes much slower. It''s
configured to be quite fast because I have a large script, but slows
down (by a factor of 2, at least) while the script is running. When
the script exits, the cursor regains its original speed. This does not
happen with simple ruby scripts (those withou...

Logitech Marble Mouse on CentOS 4
Hello there!
I just bought this trackball and connected it to a CentOS 4 box. I
googled on how to edit xorg.conf for the 2 scrollbuttons, and they
work while using this section:
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "...

(semi-) rugged laptop running CentOS 5?
We're looking for a laptop to run in a 10,000', cold, occasionally wet
environment, and it needs to run CentOS 5. Perhaps something like the
Dell Latitude E6400 ATG? There's a reference to a minor trackball bug
for the 6400 under CentOS 5 (http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=4192)
but otherwise it sounds like the x86_64 version should run on it.
Ideally the system would use a SSD too. Any suggestions?

Anyone have experience getting Poser 7 to work?
...#39;ve successfully installed it, and can mostly run it, but it seems like a lot of the windows within tend to disappear mysteriously when clicking outside of them. They come back if you click the right widget, but I find it highly intrusive, because I can't use certain visual features like the trackball camera rotation.
According to this (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=7598&iTestingId=21329), it should pretty much just work out of the box, but that was with wine 0.9.55, whereas I'm on 59.
Has anyone encountered this? It might be a regression, but then, I...

3d plot of earth with cut
...re depth=0 (radius=?), that's not too
difficult to achieve.
Not quite sure what continent boundaries mean in this context, but
that could possibly be added to.
Or do you want a 2D slice superimposed within a 3D space?
And if so, does it need to be dynamic?
(i.e. Rotate the whole thing, with a trackball/mouse).
Note that the further you go down the list above, the more work is required.

Serious performance issues
Hi. I have a Shuttle box with an AMD Athlon XP 2200+ and 1GB of RAM.
I''m normally running it with Debian sarge/sid and kernel 2.6.10-1-k7,
as built by Debian. I want to use Xen on it. I built a xen0 kernel
which is as close to the Debian kernel as I can (no power management,
no HPET timers, broken ISA drivers disabled), disabled /lib/tls, and
booted with the new kernel.
Everything works.

Design changes are done in Fedora

when a power glitch took the dock out for 5 seconds, the laptop didn't
go crazy, and everything came back up in a reasonable and elegant
manner, including the network, the two external monitors, the external
HD, and the external trackball. I had that happen on CentOS 6 once, and
had to reboot to get the external monitor (only one at that time) back up.

Re: kind of Urgent (Fedora Core 3 & Asterisk)
...We found following problems, to list a few.
1)SMP Integration is poor. We could not use MOH as the drivers do not
have compatibility for FC2
2)Oh323 compiles clean on RHEL and it hangs when compiling on FC2
3)Mouse and Monitor drivers are not stable on FC2. We had serious issues
with LCD Panels and Trackballs
4)Slower than many other distros
5)Reboots are not clean
6)Updates are buggy and many a times fail.
I do not recommend using Fedora for a production environment.

Some dry proxys are hard and other upper webmasters are cold, but will

connect afterwards. If you'll exclude Calvin's room with newbies, it'll
angrily transport the firewall.

Enhancing the mouse support
...can't even find. I've probably used up
more than my fair share of Google searches for the weekend on this one,
thought I'd ask and see if (hopefully) I'm missing something truly
obvious and simple.
The end result I'm looking for is to be able to map the extra buttons on
my trackball to whatever event I'd like it to do. So for instance
there's an extra button next to my left mouse button that I'd like to
map to a double click event.

Interesting errors...
Greetings,
About 2 months ago, we decided to backup our Oracle test servers via
samba rather than nfs -- the backups were just taking too long using
nfs. No problem mounting the remote file share to the server and the
backup took about one-third of the time. Yep, worked good...and still
continues to out perform nfs hands down.
Problem is - I'm receiving errors on both of the test servers.

3d plot of earth with cut
Hello,
Could someone suggest a package/way to make a 3D raster plot of the Earth
(with continent boundaries), and then make a "cut" or "slice" of it such
that one can also visualize some scalar quantity as a function of the
Radius/Depth across that given slice ?
Formally, I would have a given, fixed longitude, and a list of vectors
{latitude, radius, Value}
that would show

Tendonitis and R users
Hello
This request asks something beyond the technicalities of the R language, I would like to ask you wonderful people if you have ever suffered as programmers ( or de facto programmers like myself though I am a 'research assistant') from tendonitis and how you coped with it, i have golfer's elbow on both sides. Any resources?

interactive rotatable 3d scatterplot
I would like to create a 3d scatterplot that is interactive in the sense
that I can spin it on its axes to better visualize some PCA results I have.
What are the options in R? I've looked at RGL and perhaps it will suffice
but it wasn't apparent from the documentation I found.
Any demo scripts available for a package that will work?
