Now that 1.2 is out, will the issue of randomly dropping audio finally be addressed? Personally, I'm ignoring the stable series until this problem is identified and fixed. I understand that someone is working of revamping OpenAL support in WINE so when will users likely see the fruit of this revamp? This issue of randomly dropping audio with the application then CTD is extremely important.

Update: Grand Prix 4 plays almost flawlessly with Catalyst 10.6 and WINE 1.2rc3.. HOWEVER, over the past few releases of WINE (audio work), I've noticed that partly through the playback of Grand Prix 4, the audio suddenly stops. Hello, i installed Cs 1.6 on ubuntu 10.04 using wine. But i have one problem. When i play game, after 5-10 minutes my sound in game suddenly turns off. And i need to restart cs to solve this problem. Although this thread isn't directly related to WINE applications, does anyone have a valid reason for the multiple registration requirements to log into AppDB, forum, and BugZilla? Personally, I find this requirement to have separate logging registrations nearly insane.... At the least, this apparent requirement is driving potential contributors away from submitting valid and important data.

The radio buttons have disappeared unless one right click's on the general area of the button. This problem began in 1.4-rc5 and still exists in 1.4-rc6. Links 2003's radio buttons worked fine in 1.4-rc4 which is the last version of WINE that'll I use until this problem is fixed.

WINE 1.1.18 has a regression from WINE 1.1.14. I have Opensuse 11.0. Using icewm. When I run winecfg or any windows application it freezes in 1 minutes. Why? PS: Computer is not freezing.

With the newer audio code in WINE (OpenAL), sound is a little flaky with Grand Prix 4, but the game runs awhile just fine before failing (ATI binary driver + WINE 1.1.44).... nice progress. Furthermore, Links 2003 actually displayed the banner for the Direct3D HAL driver for the FIRST time (ATI binary driver + WINE 1.1.44) so this change is MAJOR progress... Although, the averusbh826d.ko driver was causing the lockup with the OLDER version of WINE, I'm no longer experiencing lockups with WINE 1.1.44 with the SAME version of Avermedia's driver! So, the problem was due to WINE (at least partly) after all! I understand that WINE 1.1.44 has new audio code for OpenAL which likely fixed the problem with the hard lockups ...
