Hello, is there a way to get my TomTom Home program connect to my TomTom GPS device? Under windows it's just an usb harddisk, and TomTom Home finds it via it's contents (I think). But under wine it doesn't seem to see it... Any hints? Or should I rather go for a virtual machine? Thanks in advance!

I'm running ubuntu 10 4 1, tryong to install tom tom home software, seems to work but after couple of minutes there is message that there is no internet connection. I did in terminal <winecfg> first and then <wine ~/tomtomhome> Do I have to change something in wine configuration? Did I miss something. I can add that I'm not computer expert.

...This is often advised to support other apps. Very nice! IE6 was then tested. It appeared to work OK. Then I installed via WINE-DOORS an app for work purposes. WINE-DOORS also prompted for another windows app which then allows the help facility to actually display text. Very nice! I installed TomTom Home2 and that was also OK although there is still the plugdev groups problem for SuSE. All apps were manually registered in the KDE apps menue. This worked. But later ..... Can someone tell me why, despite using a completely clean tree, I keep getting this on a Wine64 build? Code: wine client error:0: version mismatch 432/431. Your wine binary was not upgraded correctly, or you have an older one somewhere in your PATH. Or maybe the wrong wineserver is still running? It's getting on my bloody nerves! TIA

Am I right in thinking that WINE doesn't fully support USB access from a Windows program? I'm curious about support for satnav (PNA) devices by the proprietary support programs they use for updating maps, etc. The AppDB shows that TomTom Home doesn't currently work, but what about the support programs for the raft of cheap WindowsMobile devices, e.g. the Binatone X.350 or Mio PNAs. I can't find any mention of them in AppDB. Martin
