How do I go about this
hello all.
I have a dual boot laptop running XP and RH3. I tried
to install wine but because my XP is on NTFS I could
not link to that partition.
So, I have burned all my personal files to CD and am
wondering what to do next:
1) I suppose I could install another windows operating
system like 98. Drawback is that when I do use
Windows, XP tends to handle the plug and play features
better (like

Question about uninstalling a Windows app (ACDSee)
Hi! I managed to get ACDSee 8.0 installed via wine 0.9.14 but it
doesn't run due to missing DLLs, like MFC71.DLL. There were other DLLs
it complained about missing that were part of the ACDSee installation
but since MFC71.DLL isn't there, no dice. :(
Anywho, I want to uninstall ACDSee such that the registry is properly
cleaned up, etc.
How do I go about doing this? I'm about

Question about wine 0.9.2 and VideoLan Media Client
Hi! I just installed wine 0.9.2 on my Linux system and tried installing
VLC 0.8.4 for Windows:
http://www.videolan.org/
The installer ran fine and VLC even started! I was able to open a WMV
file but when it started playing back, it crashed:

No "seteuid" method available
Hey Everyone:
"No seteuid method available" is the error I get when trying to configure Samba 2.2.2 on an HP-UX 11.0 system. This system is part of a test network and has tcp/ip but no DNS. There are only 3 articles on the Samba site about this and the only fix requires changing and recompiling "C" libraries. Is there another, simpler fix? Thanks.

IE HTML rendering problem with wine 0.9.8
Hi! I installed both wine-0.9.8 and wine-0.9.9 and winetools. I've
installed IE 6 using winetools and IE 6 starts just fine but doesn't
render any HTML pages, but instead displays a "HTML rendering is
currently disabled" message.
I did some searching on Google and found this message on the wine-devel
mailing list:

Question about __wine_dbg_vprintf
I just build Wine-20020605 from source using gcc-3.1.1 (20020701
snapshot), binutils-1.12.1, glibc-2.2.5 on Slackware 8.0 w/ 2.4.18
kernel, XFree86 4.0.3 and Mesa 4.0.3 installed.
I used "tools/wineinstall" to do the build and install and when I try to
verify the installed wine version, I get the error below:

Compiling Wine-20021125 w/ gcc-3.2.1 and freetype-2.1.3
Hi! I'm trying to build Wine-20021125 via "wineinstall" and the compile
fails with TONS of messages related to Freetype. I took a peek at the
"config.log" file and found these errors when configure was trying to
detect the freetype/ftglyph.h header:
configure:8420: checking for freetype/freetype.h
configure:8427: result: yes
