How long to 1.0?
Hi!
I'm wondering how close Dovecot can be said to be to 1.0 "Final". How
stable can the alpha branch be said to be?
I was browsing around the Dovecot homepage, but I couldn't find any
answer to this question. I hope it hasn't been asked (too many times)
before.

.Xauthority & SMB
I asked this question a while ago, but never got any response. Since
then, I've researched the problem some more, so I can give a much more
concise description of what's happening.
I'm mounting the home directories of the users upon login (using
pam_mount) from the Windows server. However, none of the users can run X
Windows. It says there's a problem with the .Xauthority file.

u32 filter won''t match
..., since that happens before the packets
are enqueued, that removes the mark before the filters are classified,
which isn''t really my intention... Is there any other way of demarking
the packets that doesn''t interfere with the QoS setup?
Thank you very much for your time!

GSSAPI support status
...f not, is there a way for me to
get my hands on the original patch, so that I can fix it up for the
current version of Dovecot? I'm eagerly waiting for the day that I can
switch from UW-IMAP to Dovecot, but I don't want to until I can get
GSSAPI authentication.
Thanks for reading!

Known problem?
...othing ever happens, no matter how long I wait. Sometimes it says
it crashes with c0000005 (the windows equality to sigsegv, right?)
I compiled wine from the 20020804 sources. I can't imagine that this
happens seldomly, I've surely just forgotten something out of the
config, right?

HTB rates aren''t enforced correctly
...low priority goes at 500 kbit (its ceil), while the FTP transfer
drops to only about 300 kbit.
I have verified that everything goes through the right classes (with
tc -s class ls), so the filters are working as they should, at least.
If someone can explain this, I''d be grateful.

Dovecot IDLE bandwidth usage
...that it
would be better not to time out at all during an IDLE command and just
turn on TCP keepalives instead, but that is the minor issue here)
I'll apologize in advance if this is already a tunable option, but I
haven't found anything about it in the configuration file.
Cheers,

Status of your Dovecot GSSAPI patch
Hi!
I saw your discussion on the Dovecot list back in October about a SASL
GSSAPI patch for Dovecot. I'd like to ask what the status is on it. Are
you still working on it?
Thanks for your attention!

Root finding problem
...one
please give me a suggestion of how to do that? Thanks in advance.
In MATLAB I do the following:
function u=tukeysolve(a,lambda,xgrid)
u=zeros(length(xgrid),1);
old=0.001; % just a guess
for i=1:length(xgrid)
x=xgrid(i);
u(i) = fsolve(@tuki,old,optimset('Display','Off','tolf',5e-8),x,a,lambda);
old=u(i); % use previous value as new start value
end
function f=tuki(u,x,a,lambda)
f = x - (a * u^lambda - (1-u)^lambda)/lambda;

Playing long sounds makes programs crash
It would seem that all programs that play sounds longer than about one
half second crash. They do not necessarily crash every time they do
this, but there is rather a fifty-fifty chance that they will crash for
every such sound they play. If they get past the first second of the
sound, however, that sound will not make the program crash. From what I
know of Win32, the program seems to be crashing
