Looking for a quick way to combine rows in a matrix
...TA' are essentially the same, and I'd like to combine (add) the rows to reflect this. The final matrix should be:
[,1] [,2] [,3] [,4]
AA 1 5 9 13
AT 5 13 21 29
TT 4 8 12 16
Is there a fast way to do this?
Thanks in advance!

Asterisk forum created
I saw several threads requesting an Asterisk forum to complement the
email list. i.e.
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-dev/2004-February/003103.html
I recently created an Asterisk forum within TMC's popular VoIP forums
for everyone to use.

Google has this forum ranked #2 for keyword "asterisk forum", so it
should draw plenty...

How to compare linear models with intercept and those without intercept using minimizing adjs R^2 strategy
Dear R-list,
I apologize for my many emails but I think I know how to desctribe my
problem differently and more clearly.
My question is how to compare linear models with intercept and those without
intercept using maximizing adjusted R^2 strategy.
Now I do it like the following:
> library(leaps)
> n=20
> x=matrix(rnorm(n*3),ncol=3)
> b=c(1,2,0)
> intercept=1

rsync process never finishes
Hi,
I've got a Debian 3.0 machine from which I initiate rsync connections over
ssh to winNT/2k boxen, where sshd is running as a service, to grab files
from the windows machines.
I don't get any error from either side of the connection. The directory I
indicate is transferred as well as every sub directory, just not any of the
files in the sub directories. The process seems to be running

Splitting vector into individual elements
Is there a means to split a vector into its individual
elements without going the brute-force route for arguments
to a predefined function call?
offred.rgb <- c(1, 0, 0) * 0.60;
## Brute force style
offred.col <- rgb(offred.rgb[1],
offred.rgb[2],
offred.rgb[3],
names = "offred")
## Desired style

(no subject)
There's nothing in rsync to do that. How about making the files and directories all belong to another user, set the sticky bit and write for your rsync user on the directories, unset write for the files, and rsync that way, then chown afterwards? the
updates to existing files will fail, leaving you only with new.

decompose a correlation matrix
Is there a simple way to decompose the upper triangle
of a correlation matrix to a linear list;
For example:
X Y Z
X 1 2 3
Y 2 1 4
Z 3 4 1
so you get a list like:
xy 2
XZ 3
YZ 4
I suspect you can do it with a matrix transformation, but
that beyond me at present.
Many thanks
Mark

Exclude
Hi Folks,
I'm running rsync between an NT client and a Solaris 7 Server (Ver 2.4.6).
I'd like to be able to exclude the following directory:
/opt/IBMHTTPDLOG/archivelogs
but retrieve
/opt/IBMHTTPDLOG
My setup is:
rsync -av -p -e rsync@server1.cna.com:/opt/IBMHTTPDLOG/
F:/opt/IBMHTTDLOG
(client)
rsync --daemon --exclude-from=/etc/rsync.exclude
(server)
What I get is
