Postfix Query
Hello, Another question!! Was just trying to sort out mail delivery to subdomains. I set up my system so that I have a mail address of tim at subdomain.example.com. I've sorted out Postfix to correctly identify this and pass on to Dovecot for delivery but Dovecot doesn't seem to deliver where I want it to. Ideally I would like to have a structure so that mail is delivered to

Samba Server [Solaris 8] on Windows 2K/2003 [ADS] network
ALL: Please forgive my ignorance. I am not just naive regarding Samba..., or Solaris..., or UNIX, or Windows Networking..., the naivity courses through my veins abundantly in all IT related matters. :-) Our work unit is the lone UNIX [Samba server 2.2 on Solaris 8] installation on the organizational Windows WAN. None of the analysts in our unit have domain admin rights. The sys manager in

More Coverity-reported issues.
Another bundle of issues from Coverity triage. The first one is in x86/mm, and looks scarier than it is. The others are all in xen/drivers and AFAICT are pretty minor. Cheers, Tim.

Accessing Windows file-system from Linux samba server
I don't understand Windows permissions under Samba. I am running an smb server under CentOS-5.4, and have a Windows XP Pro machine ("harriet") as a client. I have set up shares C and D on harriet corresponding to the 2 drives C: and D: on the machine, and I have asked that files should be shared. Now when I mount harriet:C I can see the top level folders, but cannot see Documents

i recently upgraded a server from dovecot 2.1 to 2.3 unfortunately sieve does not appear to be working. The user scripts have not changed, and neither has the dovecont config. using managesieve allows me to create new sieve files and setting one as default updates the link in ~/ to point to the correct file, but the .dovecot.svbin file is not changed (unless i run sievec

Problems with sftp under SCO OpenServer
Hello, I compiled OpenSSH 2.5.1p1 for SCO OpenServer 5.0.5, HPUX B.11.00, and SunOS 5.7. When I sftp into the HP or Sun box, everything works fine. However, whenever I sftp into the OpenServer box, all remote filenames are shown as "(null)". File sizes, owners, etc. display properly. This behavior is exhibited from all origination points. OpenSSH was configured with identical

bug(?) in R FAQ - Should I run R from within Emacs? (PR#1772)
I have a small request re. R FAQ Frequently Asked Questions on R Version 1.5-10, 2002-06-13 ISBN 3-901167-51-X Kurt Hornik In section 6.2 Should I run R from within Emacs? The faq says "Yes, definitely." This led me to install emacs, and to install ess. However, I use a windows environment (mswindows2000) and I had some difficulty installing, linking and launching these

4.3p2: call for testing
Hi all. As most folks on this list will know, OpenSSH 4.3p1 had some problems with login recording under some configurations. This has been resolved in the current tree and we are looking at rolling a 4.3p2 release to address them. For the most part the changes are fixes only; the ChangeLog since 4.3p1 is below in its entirety. There's one other change that is currently still not decided,

I/O port access handling for PVH
George, since you asked on Friday, I though about the situation some more over the weekend. On PV, the requirement to trap all INs and OUTs is a result from us needing the enforce two levels of restrictions - Xen''s and the guest kernel''s. I.e. we can''t make use of the hardware''s access control mechanisms, as we can''t put two I/O bit maps in place, and

lmer for 3-way random anova
I have been using lme from nlme to do a 3-way anova with all the effects treated as random. I was wondering if someone could direct me to an example of how to do this using lmer from lme4. I have 3 main effects, tim, trt, ctr, and all the interaction effects tim*trt*ctr. The response variable is ge. Here is my lme code: dat <-
