where to get timesync.pif ?
The Samba FAQ mentions a program called timesync to update the
system clock on clients from the server. The download address in the
FAQ is out of date - where can I get a copy ?

Logon script, help please
Hi,
I'm having trouble getting a logon script to work...
I have created a DOS batch file (timesync.bat) and placed it in the scripts
directory of the server.
The file contains only one line - net time \\ptlserver /SET /y
My smb.conf "Globals" section is:-
[global]
workgroup = PTLTRAIN
netbios name = PTLSERVER
server string = Llandrindod Trainee Server
encrypt passwords = Yes

"modified outside" bug.
Hi!
I can't find this bug in FAQ:
VisualC++ 5.0 alwais complains
"This source file has been modified outside the source editor. Reload?"
Sources are located on the last samba server under Linux. System clock
on Linux is set to Greenwich, zone offset applied.
I tried to set NT clock to be more than Linux, this does not help.

Hai Gregory,
No problem, now netplan, but i cant tell you much about netplan out of experiance, i've never used it.
But what is it exact you want to know??
The how and why i configure like this is already a bit explained.
about this part:
> So, I'm curious about the contrast between modifying netplan vs simply disabling systemd.resolved
But I did a bit reading.

Samba4 on Ubuntu 18.04 Howto setup ADDC with bind9_DLZ (extra part 4.8.1 samba)
Hai Paul.
Yep. time sync is a must in ADDC setups and for very server it a must imo.
You might need to sync a hardware clock also, because if the hardware clock gets more then 5 min out of sync.
You might end up en some strang problem.
And do note, NTP Server is only needed on the DC,s members, just point them to the DC.
Better imo, add CNAME ntp1 to dc1 and ntp2 to dc2 and use the ntp1/2

time issue with puppet
Hi,
I have the following manifest that basically syncs the time for nodes really out of sync and ntpd can''t drift the time back fast enough.
The problem is that when puppet executes the catalog, and puppet changes the time, puppet never finishes because it can''t calculate the "run time" since puppet changed the time during the puppet run.
Is this a bug? Should I do

Absolutely true for DCs, where ntpd with --enable-ntp-signd is needed,
to provide NTP service to windows

Re: samba Digest, Vol 16, Issue 45
Hi Mike,
You may need to create the netlogon folder in your Samba directory tree.
Samba is installed on my servers in /usr/local/samba - netlogon is a
subfolder of that, with scripts being a subfolder of the netlogon
directory.
My logon scripts are therefore in /usr/local/samba/netlogon/scripts and
are owned by root.root, readable by all. Find your Samba directory and
have a look for the

[PATCH 1/1] Properly check return values of kmalloc and vmbus_recvpacket
Correct ugly oversight, we need to check the return values of kmalloc
and vmbus_recvpacket and return if they fail. I also tightened up the
call to kmalloc.
Thanks to Evgeniy Polyakov <zbr at ioremap.net> for pointing this out.

DHCP timeout and mysteriously dropping IP address
Hi everyone,
I'me having trouble with a CentOS 7 guest running on a Hyper-V host. For
some reason, the CentOS guest randomly drops its IP address. Running
"systemctl restart NetworkManager" on the console will restore IP
connectivity without a reboot. I think that DHCP is timing out, but I'm not
sure what to do about it. Is there a way to tell NetworkManager to keep
trying after

[PATCH 1/1] hv: Use only one receive buffer per channel and kmalloc on initialize
Correct issue with not checking kmalloc return value.
This fix now only uses one receive buffer for all hv_utils

with a -ENOMEM if kmalloc fails on initialize.
Thanks to Evgeniy Polyakov <zbr at ioremap.net> for pointing this out.
