Broken Pipe Error with Mysql
Hello. Been getting the dreaded MySQL broken pipe error after a few hours of the app being started. Obviously restarting the server fixes everything. I gather from a few posts about running rails on fast-cgi that this happens when mysql timesout before the application. Just wondering what the timeout for mongrel is and which mysql variable it has to be lower than. Thanks for any help -- Ross Riley riley.ross at gmail.com

session recovery on change of IP
Hi there Is it possible to configure ssh so that a session can continue/recover after a change of IP? I have a number of static IP dialup accounts and there is no problem using these because when my dialup connection timesout and later reconnects, it gets the same IP and so any existing ssh sessions are unaffected. However, these accounts with static IP's are metered (i.e. expensive ;-). Much better are the unmetered (here in the UK, either FRIACO or Surftime) dialups but these use dynamic IP's. So after a ti...

CentOS 7.1 NFS Client Issues - rpc.statd / rpcbind
...erver.service is not enabled then I have to wait 60 seconds after boot for the 1st NFSV3 mount to succeed. What I can surmise is the following. I attempt to perform a NFS mount a newly booted machine and systemd via listening sockets (1) starts rpc.statd (fails) (2) starts rpcbind (3) rpc.statd timesout after 60 seconds and then starts sucessfully (3) performs the nfs mount I see that rpc.statd is attempted to start at the time that I perform the mount request - it just takes 60 seconds to start. I think this is because it tries to start before rpcbind is really stated and then waits a full 60...

Samba 3, member of ADS, new trust between small ADS and large one
...sometimes slow at getting started and fast at printing all 3500 names once it starts wbinfo -g same as wbinfo -u getent password frequently hangs after listing the local /etc/password contents and when it does go on it seems to get incrementally further in the list of 3500 people before it finally timesout each time I run it getent group works with many fewer entries So my question is, what is going on and what can I do to help the situation? I actually would like to just deny the logins from the larger domain from logging in to the Samba ADS domain computers, but perhaps this is not possible with...

Configuring Dovecot for use with Active Directory
Hello, My server is configured as follows: FreeBSD 6.1 OpenLDAP 2.3.27 Cyrus SASL 2.1.21 Dovecot 1.0.rc15 I have PostFix configured to use SASL for SMTP AUTH, which in turn leverages OpenLDAP to verify users in Active Directory. I do not have, nor want to in the future, local users in FreeBSD, so I've configured PostFix for Virtual Mailboxes. Everything is working and I'm getting

Another problem on queues
...estions about this problems that I cannot yet solve, but I think I have a better diagostic, so maybe someone can give me a clue why it is happenning. I have Asterisk + AMP configured as a PBX with a Customer Center Queue with 4 agents that login/logout dinamically. If there are no agents, queue timesout and gets derived to another queue that somebody answers as last resort or waits there. If there is at least one agent logged in, but it is busy, dialparties.agi detects that that extension has no callwaiting, no callforward, no voicemail, and hangs up the call inmediately with a "nobody is ava...

Parking help - causing Asterisk crash
Hi, I am having some trouble with parked calls timing out. In features.conf: [general] parkext => 800 ; What extension to dial to park parkpos => 801-820 ; What extensions to park calls on context=parkedcalls parkingtime=120 After the Park timesout it calls the phone that the call was parked from. If the phone is BUSY the call just get dropped. (Call waiting is off for other reason) What I would like is control over the call if it does not get answered from the redial. I have added a [park-dial] context in extentions.conf I am not sure ho...

Connection Timeout
This is my first post so first of all I will say hello to everyone. I have rsync configured and working properly on my local network however when I try to connect from a remote host (one located in a different state) the connection times out. I was wondering if there was another way to set the timeout besides in the rsyncd.conf file? As I said the connection works fine on the internal lan, but

ParkAndAnnounce2 Feature Request
We've had a regular Park function in the past but recently I found the ParkAndAnnounce() application and I love the idea behind it. Here's a snip from the wiki (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+ParkAndAnnounce) so that we're all talking the same language: || ParkAndAnnounce(announce:template|timeout|dial|return_context) || || Park a call into the
