[PATCH] Add config option disabling drop_connection() behavior
The patch below (against openssh 3.2.3p1) adds a
CheckMaxStartups option, defaulting to yes, to determine whether sshd
calls drop_connection().
The motivation behind this is twofold. In our environment, our
timesharing machines get enough incoming connections that will trigger
spuriously with the default value (10 forked unauthenticated
connections) as well as some significantly higher values,

SMP guest support in unstable tree.
The unstable tree now includes support for SMP guests, i.e.
domains which run on multiple cpus. SMP guests can use between
1 and 32 virtual cpus, even if the machine has fewer physical cpus.
The code is highly experimental and performance will improve over
time.
To use SMP guests:
- enable option CONFIG_SMP in the Linux 2.6 kernel config
- dom0 will boot with upto the number of physical cpus in

Wine Server for multi users
Hi,
Is it possible to have a single Wineserver which can manage wine
processes belonging to different users. If not, please tell me the
reason.
I'm trying to reduce the memory occupied by wineserver in a multiuser
system, for instance: a server shared by 100s of users. In this case,
it is better to have a single wineserver which can manage wine
processes of multiple users (1 process instead

Writing Rd files dor package
Hi all,
I have some problems to write help files for a package. I don't
understant how to include help
files in a package that I develop.
I have written the Rd files that I have put in a man directory. So after
this, I built the package with the command
R CMD build (for linux) and I obtained my package (I have also used the
commands R CMD Rdconv -t txt and
R CMD Rdconv -t html to convert

confused newbie
To launch a Windows exe from a command line, is it "wine <program>" or "wine start <program>"? I've seen both mentioned in the documentation.

Automatically choose between 32-bit and 64-bit kernel
I've been using syslinux on my own Linux recovery CDs for almost a year now,
and in that time I've found it useful to be able to automatically load a
64-bit-capable kernel if the CPU supports it.
I'd like to share my efforts and submit this patch for syslinux-3.31. It adds a
new config file keyword, 'default64', which overrides the default image if a
64-bit CPU is detected.

a couple of years. Everything I do now is Kubernetes based or using cloud

Planning "hotel" phone system - Need input
Ok, I'm working on an implementation of Asterisk to service approximately 50
fractional (read: timeshare) residences. Basically what I'm starting with is a
hotel phone system, but with additional functionality that Asterisk can
provide. From the end user's perspective, I want the exact same functionality
as the Telco provides (Caller ID, visual message waiting, etc) with a few minor

Doubt about pattern
Hi All,
I have a very simple problem. I have several files in a same directory. I would like to send for an object only the files that finish in ".sens.". I execute the command below,
files <- dir(pattern="*.sens")
but it includes all of the files that have "sens", independent of they be in the end or in the middle of the name of the file. How could I solve

Cemtos 7 : Systemd alternatives ?
Reading about systemd, it seems it is not well liked and reminiscent of
Microsoft's "put everything into the Windows Registry" (Win 95 onwards).
Is there a practical alternative to omnipresent, or invasive, systemd ?
