geoR, plot of variog4 lines incomplete
...using variog:
> trees90.vgm<-variog(trees.geo,max.dist=100,direction=pi/2)
> plot(trees90.vgm)
The second is a plot of a multidirectional variogram created using
variog4:
> trees.vgm4<-variog4(trees.geo,max.dist=100)
> plot(trees.vgm4)
The graphs are also available at:
www.tiem.utk.edu/~mmfuller/R_plots.pdf
You can see that the 90 degree line in the multi-line plot from
variog4 (dotted green line) does not include all the data shown in
the single 90 degree variogram (circles) plotted using variog. The
lines for other directions in the variog4 plot are also incomple...

Ubuntu Hardy + Wine + WoW = corrupted graphics
...in both
-opengl and -d3d). This doesn't happen at all if I just run something
simple like winecfg or regedit.
I have screenshots to show what I'm talking about.
- This image shows the garbage left behind on the desktop whenever the
wine window is moved around the screen:
http://www.tiem.utk.edu/~peek/tmp/wine/wow-desktop-1440.jpg
- This image shows the flickering that takes place whenever a window
underneath the wine window changes and redraws itself. (In this case
the large blue square you see in the lower-left is an xterm window
running ls.):

Writing a mod_put HttpHandler
I''m looking at writing a Mongrel handler that mimics the behavior of
the Apache mod_put [1]. It allows for the streaming upload of very
large (GB) files; it also supports resumable upload.
Before I get too involved, I''d like to ask if my reading of the
mongrel source code is correct, i.e. what I want to do isn''t
currently possible.
Looking at the class

Asterisk 'losing' upstream provider registration state during small network outages.
...am ISP.
Attached is the relevant part of my sip.conf (also seen before on a
previus thread) :-)
I'm now running CVS-HEAD compiled about 2 weeks ago and it's probably
about time for an update.
With quick look at the changelogs I didn't notice anything regarding this
behavior.
Next tiem this happens I will also try and capture more detail.
sip debug generaly was showing nothing go by with an attempted incoming
call.
And (from memory) sip show peers looked normal as if ready for incoming
calls.
Thanks Much!

IRIX 6.5 with samba-2.0.6 and gcc.
I just report a problem that seems to be know since quite a long tiem, but is
neither reflected in the FAQ nor in the README's of the samba distribution.
The problem is that using gcc under IRIX to compile samba gives a mismatch in
calling semctl, because the structure passing conventions of gcc are not same as
the IRIX cc conventions.
(As far as I know semctl i...

The following function delivers all permutations of 1:n.
all.perm <- function(n) {
p <- matrix(1, ncol = 1)
for (i in 2:n) {
p <- pp <- cbind(p, i)
v <- c(1:i, 1:(i - 1))
for (j in 2:i) {
v <- v[-1]

Summarising Data for Forrest Plots
I tried to post this a few times last week and it seems to have got stuck somehow so I'm trying from a different email in the hope that works. If somehow this has appeared on the list 20 tiems and I never saw any of them I apologize ;-)
I'm basically an R-newbie. But I am VERY computer literate. But this has me stumped...
All the examples for using the rmeta package to create a forest plot or simillar seem to use the catheter data:

Polycom IP500 - problems with multiplesimultaneous calls
...n the Polycom Admin PDF.
The * side should just be an extension definition that moves from one
Line to the Next if busy.
The bad news is it seems like some of the features for these phones just
don't work so I cannot guarantee that what I sent will work. I finally
gave up on this for lack of tiem and just registered a single Line and
let the phone ring in a second line to the extension.
Cheers,
Wiley

DTrace provider for NFS
FYI, I posted a blog a few days ago about a DTrace provider for NFS
that is currently in
development:
http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/samf?entry=a_dtrace_provider_for_nfs
Let''s discuss any questions, comments, etc. here. I also advertised
this on
nfs-discuss at opensolaris.org. Naturally, I would expect the
discussion here to
be more on the specifics of DTrace, and the

Ubuntu + Wine = Can't See My WoW :(
Hello all,
I've been struggling for a while now to get World of Warcraft running
under wine, and there's lots of helpful information out there, but
nothing seems to address the particular problem that I am having.
Rather than try to explain it to you, it would be easier just to show
you a screenshot:
