Curious warning in R for OS X w/Xwindows
I recently reformatted my TiBook and reinstalled everything from the
system up. After installing Apple's version of XWindows and the
XWindows version of R 1.7.0, I ran the two and got a strange warning:
-----

R-1.6.1, Mac OS X 10.2.2 build failure
...tkConfig.sh
The compiler was gcc-3.1 (Mac OS X developer tools, with August and
November 2002 updates) g77 (from DarwinPorts, not fink). libreadline
was manually installed (not fink or DarwinPorts); a convenience for
some other work. Tcl/Tk is 8.4.1 from sourceforge.
The hardware platform is a TiBook G4, 800 MHz.
Let me know what I can do to help track down this problem.
Best Wishes,
Greg Wright

OS for rails development: Windows vs. Mac?
Caveat: this is not a discussion about *hosting* a rails app on windows.
Anyway...Macs are everywhere you look when researching rails (demo vids,
tutorials, and pictures from rails training classes). I''m interested in
what the pros to using a Mac for rails development are (besides
textmate). Is it more of a cultural thing, a what would 37 signals do
thing, is it a unix thing, or
