Hey all, CentOS 6 has Thunderbird 68.8.0 CentOS 8 has Thunderbird 68.7.0 When I rsync my .thunderbird folder from my CentOS 6 machine to my CentOS 8 machine and start Thunderbird it says: "A newer version of Thunderbird may have made changes to your profile which are no longer compatible with this older version. Use this pr...

Thunderbird in CentOS 7.4
With the current Thunderbird I can not connect to one of my IMAP servers that uses a self-signed cert. Virtually identical IMAP servers that use CA signed certs work I was a bit out of date when I updated to 7.4 and was running Thunderbird 45.6.x and it worked. When I connected from evolution (which I do not like) it work...

Dovecot and thunderbird authentication issue?
Hello, I'm using Dovecot 2.2, Postfix 3.5, and am atempting to get the latest version of Thunderbird to work. I tried account autoconfig which did not work, so I had to manually enter information and correct other information. On my server dovecot supports plane and login authentication methods but only over starttls i've got a letsencrypt certificate. My thunderbird configuration looks good,...

Thunderbird randomly segfaults at startup
Anyone else seeing this? This is happening on a straight "Desktop" install of CentOS 6.6 fully updated. I have made no changes other than installing Thunderbird. Thunderbird will occasionally (10 to 20% of the time) fail to start, and the abrt report indicates a signal 11 (SIGSEGV). I don't see any other reports of this. Is no one using Thunderbird these days? Do abrt reports submitted from CentOS go anywhere useful these days? I saw some discussion...

False "new mail" warning from Thunderbird, using RC23
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am continually getting false "New Mail" warning from Thunderbird. I'm running Thunderbird 1.5.0.9 on Windows, and it's talking to two different Dovecot 1.0.RC23 servers (one home server, one work server). This was happening in older Dovecot versions too, so it's not new in RC23. Very often, Thunderbird will pop up the "new mail" notificat...

Thunderbird Upgraded from 1.0.8 to 1.5.0.4 and MOZ_NO_REMOTE dead
Since Centos 4.3 comes with Thunderbird 1.0.8, I downloaded the tar of 1.5.0.4 fro mozilla and tried to figure out what to do with it. per http://www.mozilla.com/thunderbird/releases/1.5.0.4.html#install I was just suppose to copy the files.... In the end I put it in /usr/lib/thunderbird I am NOT a Linux guy so could not figure out...

Thunderbird randomly segfaults at startup
I haven't seen this, but I'm curious if it has something to do with your configuration. What I would suggest trying is working from a clean config. mv ~/.thunderbird ~/.thunderbird.backup Try it like that. If it starts correctly, then it is your config and you'll probably have to recreate your config to make it work. If it doesn't, then rename .thunderbird.config back to .thunderbird. No harm done. You can also install the latest version of thun...

Thunderbird package chrome icon
Hello, Since starting to use the Thunderbird package provided through the CentOS yum repos (currently using thunderbird-1.5.0.9-0.1.el4.centos4), my co-worker and I have noticed that we no longer have a Thunderbird icon in the title bar of any of the Thunderbird application windows. I was able to fix this by creating the directory /usr/...

OT: Migration from Evolution to Thunderbird (Thunderbird mbox files)
...Evolution from Mozilla Mail. I only use Evolution for email and contacts. Getting bored with the issues (frequently not being able to exit and needing to kill it; Bug Buddy popping up in GNOME, etc) that Mark (MHR) and I and I'm sure others have experienced. About 24 hours ago, I installed Thunderbird (on CentOS 5.2 32 bit) and am testing it with this mailing list. So far, Thunderbird doesn't seem to have any issues, based on this very quick trial. The Thunderbird documentation says that it uses mbox files, but if so, where_are_they? Here's what it says: > http://www.mozilla.org...

Thunderbird Regression
Has anyone else noticed a 10X slowing of the time it takes Thunderbird to load an email that contains graphics on CentOS 6? The last Thunderbird update moved us from Thunderbird 45 to Thunderbird 52. While Thunderbird was loading the images the hard drive was busy cranking out seeks. I have all my local home accounts mounted on a software raid. I solved the proble...

Quota's with Thunderbird
Hi, Does anyone know how to get Thunderbird to correctly report the mailbox quota's? I know Dovecot is correctly enforcing the quotas on the mailbox when using Thunderbird, but Thunderbird reports that the "server does not support quota's" when trying to view the usage? Is Thunderbird expecting something different? Viewin...

Thunderbird and Trash folder
Hello, I have my problems with the Trash folder in thunderbird. Most of the times (it did work, but only for a short period) Thunderbird is not considering the "Trash" folder (or in my case the "Papierkorb") as the trash folder. The symbol disappears and I am not able to delete folders. Deleted emails are disappearing at all. The usual...

Sieve - Not showing new emails in Thunderbird?
Hi, Issue: Sieve works perfectly and does deliver the mail to the correct mail directories. However Thunderbird doesn't detect the new email, until the user clicks on the folder and then all of a sudden it shows the newly detected emails. Perhaps this is a task for the Thunderbird forums? (Thunderbird 24.2.0) Server Side: * CentOS release 6.3 (Final) * dovecot-2.0.9-7.el6.x86_64 * dovecot-pigeonhole-2....

Extremely weired Thunderbird OpenSSH interaction
Dear OpenSSH developers, first thank you for this great tool! Me and a friend have experienced some seriously crazy interaction between Thunderbird and OpenSSH, the problem is it's not reproducable but as it left definite traces on the server and it could be a serious security problem I still want to report it. so the following happened: My friend is running Ubuntu 9.10 with the new Thunderbird from a PPA he connected to our server (runni...

Missing Thunderbird Updates
Hello, I recently noticed that Thunderbird updates are missing from CentOS 5. First, I noticed that Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 is available in the "updates" repo of CentOS 5.2, but not on the "updates" repo of CentOS 5.3. The version in the "os" repo of CentOS 5.3 is 2.0.0.18. - Thunderbird 2.0.0.19 in CentOS 5.2 u...
