...tening to his voicemails. He has received 4 voicemails on January 3, respectively at 3H00 pm, 3H36 pm, 3H41 pm and 4H40 pm. He has received notifications by e-mail at these times. On first listen to his messages, at 8.00 pm, Asterisk has announced two new voicemails(15H00 and 15H36). He has erased thos voicemails. At 8.30pm , he has called again the Asterisk voicemail. Asterisk announced him two messages (15H41 and 16H40). I don't have any Asterisk logs . A person have an idea of what may have caused the fact that my user did not, in the first call, heard his 4 messages? Thank you. -...

Performance and scalability
Hi, My question is. What are your performance experiences compared to languages such as PHP, PERL and ASP? Could you build a site as big as Ebay on rails and have it perform fast enough? I''m afraid that the generalisation in components I see so much users asking for will make the framework too heavy compared to a clean programmed for perfomance PHP application. Probably even

Variable Selection for data reduction and discriminant anlaysis
...lo all, I'm dealing with geochemical analyses of some rocks. If I use the full composition (31 elements or variables), I can get reasonable separation of my 6 sources. Then when I go onto do LDA with the 6 groups, I get excellent separation. I feel like I should be reducing the variables to thos that are providing the most discrimination between the groups as this is important information for me. I struggle to interpret the PCA plot in a way that helps me (due to the large number of elements). So I'm trying to do some sort of step-wise variable selection. I would love to hear from s...

[RFC PATCH] virtio_ring: Use DMA API if guest memory is encrypted
...using the DMA API is going to work at all is if the device is ready for it. So we need a flag on the virtio device, exposed by the hypervisor (or hardware for hw virtio devices) that says: hey, I'm real, don't take a shortcut. And that means on power and s390 qemu will always have to set thos if you want to be ready for the ultravisor and co games. It's not like we haven't been through this a few times before, have we?

My cunning plan of using LLVM to distribute Linux CPU-arch independent binaries may have a slight hole if so :) thanks -mike

stability measures for heirarchical clustering
...#39;m thinking of modifying the jaccard function from prabclus to look at pairwise similarities in different cluster partitions of sub-samples of the data, with high similarity being indicative of stability. I wondered if anyone has already looked at stability measures for clustering (particularly thos which interface with hclust), and if any are available already in R but i have just missed them? I realise there are problems with heirarchical clustering..and i may have to consider using a different method, thanks for your advice, Jacqueline Hall [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Extension and phone management best practices??
Hi, I am trying to think of the best way to manage the phone to extension to user relationships in an Asterisk system so I am asking for any input on best practices from thos out there who are running live systems.. the bigger the better... It seems the common practice is to name the config for a phone by its extension number.. So extension 1234 would have its sip.conf entries under [1234].. While this seems to work it does mean you are staying with a traditional model...

PXELinux sending a boot disquette image? Is this possible?
Hi, First, I want to precise that I'm new to linux, so please answear with simple words ;) My problem is that I have to install and configure linux (RH9) on 36 identical computers. This would take ages. What I want to do, is to configure one, and then clone the install. But thos computers have no CD, no floppy, and I didn't manage to boot them brom an usb stick. The last option is to boot them via PXE (they can). So PXElinux seems a good thing to try. I've found a software that can copy a harddrive image to a ftp server, and afterthat, install it on another compu...

[LLVMdev] Help with Instruction Expansion on Mips

Massive Problems on Windows XP pro with Libvorbis[Vorbisfile]1.0.1
Hey there I'm using CodeWarrior8 for development on the windows platform and have been trying for some time now to add .ogg support to my engine project. First i had the problem quite a lot had out there with a crashing/freezing call to ov_open which i solved by recompiling those libs against the single-threaded variant of the core libs using VC++ 6 But now i have another problem. now every call to ov_open or ov_test or whatever returns OV_EREAD, no matter which file i use. I am perfectly positive on thos .ogg files beeing correct as several tools can load and play them...

[PATCH] RFC: ACPI / OSI: remove workarounds for hybrid graphics laptops
It's hard to figure out what systems are actually affected and right now I don't see a good way of removing those... But I'd like to see thos getting removed and drivers fixed instead (which happened at least for nouveau). And as mentioned before, I prefer people working on fixing issues instead of spending time to add firmware level workarounds which are hard to know to which systems they apply to, har...
