winbind logon username is too long
...winbind version 2.2.10
Domains are NT4 domains
I have everything set up and configured correctly. Local users and users
from trusted domains are able to log-in.
I'm having a problem with the resulting username when a user logs on from a
trusted domain.
Local domain is phonic
Trusted domain is thisted
winbind separator = . (period)
use default domain =yes
when a user logs in as 'phonic.user' or just as 'user', the linux username
is 'user'
when a user logs in as 'thisted.user', the linux username is 'THISTED.user'

Fitting ARMA model with known inputs.
Hello!
Is it possible to use R time series to identificate a process which is
subjected to known input? I.e. I have 2 sequences - one is measurements
of black box's state and the second is the "force" by which this black
box is driven (which is known too) and I want to fit thist two series
with AR-process. The "ar" procedure from stats package expects that the
force is always random. Is it possible to feed it known vector as input
parameter?
Thank you in advance.

UFO Extraterrestrials - Version RU-20100428 + BMan's Mod
Greetings!..
I'm asking an advice with UFO Extraterrestrials - Version RU-20100428 + BMan's Mod.
First, I have to say, that I'm using Wine 1.2.1
I have installed WineTricks and with thist script I installed MFC40.dll (without the installation didn't work).
So, the game starts in vitrual desktop mode (1024x768) with flicker; the mouse works but with desync. No sound (Error initializing audio. Continuing silent. Error: 80070057). I had removed everything from /data/video.
I have...

I don't see this error myself. I just unpacked febootstrap-3.12 from
the tarball, and ./configure && make works fine.
What does config.log say?

Intel ICH7 SMBus support, ichsmb(4)
Hi there,
I have been looking at a system which has the Intel ICH7 south bridge.
Whenever I try to probe the SMBus on this system with 'smbmsg -p', I get
a lot of status=41 timeout messages in dmesg from the ichsmb(4) driver.
I have been given the addresses of the SMBus peripherals and have tried
initiating reads to their register space directly using 'smbmsg', with

Imap sent folder sometimes dosen't get updated in dovecot-1.1-rc3(+some current hg patches)
Yes, again, some sent emails don't get copied to sent folder.
This time I get the following error:
Error: IMAP(username): UIDs broken with partial sync in mbox file
/maildir/username/Sent
This happened at least with thunderbird and with evolution.
Dovecot is running on vith fcntl locking on Centos5, sendmail should use fcntl,
too.
Filesystem is ext3 on drbd partition.

How to change CD drive?
...ime is noticed. The installation kernel says (in its Ctrl-Alt-F4 window, i.e. "dmesg" or kernel log):

Accordingly I had to click OK in the Linux installation menu several times before a "CD" could be read. Imagine thist 9 CDs where asked to be changed some 30 (! I do not know why so much) times and every time I had to click OK from 1 to 10 times :((
Is it something wrong in the environment which makes CD-images not to be read from the first time?
If not, which is the proper, XEN-approved procedure of changing...

[PATCH 08/10] tun: Re-uanble UFO support.
Now that UFO is split into v4 and v6 parts, we can bring
back v4 support without any trouble.
Continue to handle legacy applications by selecting the
IPv6 fragment id but do not change the gso type. Thist
makes sure that two legacy VMs may still communicate.
Based on original work from Ben Hutchings.

OT: Monograph on Statistical Programming
Dear all,
my question might be a bit off-topic.
Is there anything like a standard textbook on statistical programming?
With that I don't mean anything like MASS, S Programming, Programming
with Data, ... (no offense meant, they are fantastic books and each of
those three helped me a great deal).
Rather in the direction of the "Numerical Recipes" Series addressing how
to implement

how to generate data set with different length and calculate the mean?
Hello,
This may be a rare question. I am struggling to solve it. I really
appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks a lot in advance!
I put my questions between the code to make it clear. The problem I have is:
I generated 10 data sets with 8 data for each set. Now I want to change the
number of data in each dataset according to a vector 'size' (as follows),
that is, each new dataset

[PATCH 00/10] Split UFO into v4 and v6 versions.
UFO support in the kernel applies to both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
with the same device feature. However some devices may not be able
to support one of the offloads. For this we split the UFO offload
feature into 2 pieces. NETIF_F_UFO now controlls the IPv4 part and
this series introduces NETIF_F_UFO6.
As a result of this work, we can now re-enable NETIF_F_UFO on
