thick plot lines
...="red", lty="dashed") I tried putting par(lty="dashed",lwd=0.1) before this, but this doesn't have any effect either. I'm now wondering if I am doing something wrong. Does qqplot perhaps not accept these parameters? What should I do to make the lines/points thinner? Faheem.

Can cloud images be added to 'virt-builder --list' ?
They are quite thinner than regular EL7 images, and can be an excellent starting point to build images. How can one add them to the repo? TIA, Y.

boxplot
Hi, I just made a boxplot but I want to change the thickness of the line used for the median to look a little thinner. Could anyone please help me figuring out the R-code to do it? Thanks, I really appreciate it. Suyan

grandstream firmware update 1.0.5.23
...unable to return them to the dealer I bought them from they organized for me to rma them directly. 2 brand new grandstreams now sitting on my desk. Has anyone else noticed that they have changed not only the plastic composition of the handsets but also the design of the handpiece itself (slightly thinner and slightly heavier) I could be wrong but to me it sounds like the voice quality has improved between the older model and the newer one so slightly. And for $50 or there abouts you cant complain. Just my 0.02c worth. Cheers, Dean

Printing out a graph using different graphics devices
...example). After you run the plot<- part and then do print(plot) - that's what I want. However, when I run the bits of code below (with graphics devices) - what they print is different from the original plot. In .png, .emf, and .tiff - my dots change their shape and my lines (I think) become thinner. And in .ps format - the dots stay what they are supposed to be but they change their color. Could you please explain to me what the reasons are for those changes? Also - should I specify my chart characteristics differently depending on the device I'll be using? Thank you very much! Regression line limited by the range of values
Thankyou very much Marc for that nifty little script. When I use it on my real dataset though, the lines are fat in the middle and thinner towards the ends. I guess it's because "lines" draw one fitted line for each x, and if you have hundreds of x, this turns into a line that is thicker that it should be (due to rounding errors perhaps). I got the tip to use "segments", and draw one line from min(x),min(y)...

authorized_keys2 directory idea
Hi, In a mail about two weeks ago, I brought up an idea: --- How SSH makes this easier is that you only have to sync the authorized_keys2 database to root account's .ssh/ every time new admin comes in/leaves the house. This can even be automatized rather easily. A more modular hack would be using authorized_keys2 _directory_, and the keys in there would all be counted as authorized. Thus

Windows Printing and Line Widths
...Brian Ripley Date: Mon Jun 23 2003 - 23:59:29 EDT What printer driver are you using? I've just tried this and it works exactly as one would expect on my HP 970CXi, as well as cut-and-paste into other applications. It also worked printing to Acrobat Distiller (although all the lines were thinner there than on-screen and on the 970CXi, the ratio was still 1:5). We've been here before, and had to abandon some optimizations because of a bug in interpreting Windows metafiles in Word. factor analysis (pca): how to get the 'communalities'?
Dear expe-R-ts, I try some test data for a factorAnalysis (resp. pca) in the sense of Prof. Ripley's MASS ? 11.1, p. 330 ff., just to prepare myself for an analysis of my own empirical data using R (instead of SPSS). 1. the data. ## The test data is (from the book of Backhaus et al.: Multivariate ## Analysemethoden. Samba4 DC with Secondary Questions
Hello all. I am currently working on setting an S4 domain to replace our aging samba 3 setup. We have found many answers on the net, in various documentation, but when it comes to setting up beyond one node documentation becomes a little thinner. We are setting up a Primary DC with AD, using BIND9_DLZ, also serving dhcp from Primary, and we want to setup a Secondary that is both a DNS(bind9_dlz) slave, a kerberos slave, and AD secondary. Our Secondary will be our file serve, and perhaps a third "member" as our cups server. We ru...

how do I download pictures from a dumb phone?
Inserting anything other than a USB cable into the phone seems to be a no-go. There is one slightly wider and thinner recess, but no metal is in it. It looks like a slightly less dumb model would use the same outer case and a somewhat different inner case. >From lsusb: Bus 002 Device 007: ID 04e8:6640 Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd Usb Modem Enumerator [root at localhost ~]# file /dev/bus/usb/002/007 /dev/bus/...

Transmitting synthetic speech using Speex?
...hunk of audio output by Swift and sending it to a client. One interesting thing I've noticed is that as I increase Speex's encoding quality, the output in the client sounds smoother (at my normal quality value of 5 or 6 it sounds OK but occasionally has a hesitation or glitch) but "thinner" -- less full or less resolution. Using the noise filter and changing the complexity parameter don't seem to matter. I'll be experimenting with this more, but if anyone is interested I can send some audio data generated by the Swift synthesizer. Or, if anyone has any suggestion...
