smbd (3.0.20pre2) crashes at startup, was: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2916
Hi all, at first glance, samba3.20.pre2 seemed to crash at startup, so I posted a bug-report at bugzilla (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2916). After I installed this version in a seperate directory, so it wouldn't conflict with any existing *.tdb, but still use the same ldap-directory and the same smb.conf, it now starts. I assume that I have some .tdb-file or something alike,

Domain Logons
Hello, I am new to Samba. I run FreeBSD 2.2.5-stable and Version 1.9.17p4. I would like my FreeBSD server to act as a DOMAIN Logon. And, for example if user riso logges in (using his FreeBSD box password) his /home/riso should be automatically maped to G: or something. The error message I get is: "You have entered an incorrect password, or access to your logon server has been denied."

Liebert PSI 1440 support
Hi, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to interact with the above UPS using its USB/HID interface and have come to the conclusion that it's not going to be as "easy" as I'd first thought :( My attempts have all been on FreeBSD-5 (kernel as of today) using NUT v2.0.2 and fiddling with newhidups -- I tried the simple approach of adding the IDs and "seeing what

AJAX issue: How to push rest of records up after deleting a record
I''m trying to develop a simple to-do list to learn RJS. Thigns are working fine as long as I add new items. Let''s say I have three items. item 1 - delete item 2 - delete item 3 - delete When I click delete on the item2 to delete it, the items does get deleted. But that row becomes empty. The item 3 doesn''t get pushed up. Does it mean that...

matrix comparison, and cbind issues.
Hello, This should be a fairly simple question. I have 2 matrix's and I want to get the difference between them and then remove the difference from one of them. So A vs B, anything I see in B I want to remove from A, and then print out the final matrix. I have some code here but at the moment I'm getting stuck on the creating a matrix, cbind problems. clean <- function (A, B,

Via google: libtiff 3.8.2 http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/2839214/com/libtiff-3.8.2-2.x86_64.rpm.html This got me to a page all about libtiff 3.8.2 for 'Fedora other' and a link http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3?stat=3&search=libtiff&srodzaj=3 for other distributions. So which do I take? ?

Bug Report. Replay-gain and ogg.
I just bought an I Audio mobile device (Btw, these thigns are the coolest players on the face of the earth.. might want to check em out). It plays ogg vorbis files rather nicely. My whole music library is sitting in flac format. When I encoded my flac files (the majority a year ago) I used replay gain to save the album and track information if the flac f...

Ruby as a web client
Hello, I need to write a program that will talk http to some web applications. I was thinking to use Rack. I am not sure what would be a good way to do this. Is there a better or higher level gem that I can use for this. Thanks in advance! Alex -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Ruby on Rails: Talk" group. What am I doing wrong?
:( I am trying to get Internet Explorer to run because that is the only program I can use to log into MLS (Realtor's Website) I get the website to come up but it keeps saying I need to change the Privacy settings and enable cookies. When I go to do that, I click on the Privacy Tab and there is nothing there! It also locks up after that and I have to do a restart. Any help would be greatly

ADS Domain Member Workgroup vs Realm
I'm working to setup Samba as a domain member to a Windows Server active directory, and I keep hitting road blocks. There's some real terminology hurdles in the wiki. In a nutshell, my problem is this: I setup a Windows 2012 Essentials ADS domain and I ended up with zartman.local for my "domain" in Windows. So, I've got a dns zone in windows server that is domain.local

session auth and AWS auth
Hello I have 2 applications (1 normal, 1 Beast Forum) that set the session domain to be the same so that they can share information between them (they use the same database). However, i am not 100% clear on how I can expose the controller methods to each of them through normal HTTP Auth, and keep the normal acts_as_authenticated pieces in place at the same time? Is there a way to distinguish

Can copy to test share, but not read, move or delete
I have a new SentOS 5 system and have been having problems with Samba. I had been able to access my test share but not my home share. Attempting to re-set thigns as describe by the "webmin configure samba" info resluted in being able to see everything but the home shares. I don't know if I could have copied or written to these other directories - didn't try. Continued tinkering and I found I could copy files to my test share but the...

Mongrel stops responding after period of inactivity
Hi I posted this to the Ruby on Rails Talk group but I thought I''d post it here too as it''s probably a more appropriate group. Hope this is ok. I''m running a 2-instance Mongrel cluster behind Apache 2.2.4 with Rails 1.2.3. If no requests are received by the application for several hours (this usually happens overnight) then Mongrel stops responding and no requests are

Status of Prototype
Hi *, we are using prototype in Apache MyFaces as our javascript library of choice. Recently, there has been much discussion on our mailing list as to the usability of prototype in a dynamic environments where several javascript libraries are used. The critics of prototype argue that the prototype objects are not namespaced - and that prototype extends basic javascript-objects with method names
