Copying SIP Subscriptions
I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this, but... Is there a way to copy/transfer/replicate sip subscriptions from one asterisk system to another, for the purposes of HA? You coudln't even write a script to do it I don't think. You can do an 'asterisk -rx sip show subscriptions' but there'd be no way to repopulate it on a second system....

SRV with pjsip on Asterisk 15.5: yes or no?
...p2sip/wiki/SipDevicesAsterisk "Asterisk, is currently unable to handle more that one result for a DNS SRV lookup, and the Asterisk configuration needed for getting it work with the SIP2SIP service is not trivial" It then gives a complex multi-section workaround in SIP. I remember reading there'd be the same issue with PJSIP, and then I found this post in the Asterisk blog from 2016: https://blogs.asterisk.org/2016/04/20/pjsip-dns-support/ which says: "chan_pjsip will now look for SRV records based on what transports are configured on the system". Does this mean there's...

I was figuring there'd be some way of having the backend specify it if there isn't one in the module IR - or a way of calling into the backend to generate one up since memorizing all of the possible target layouts for all of the targets would probably be a pain. These bits would probably be off of the TargetMac...

[lld] supporting binary-to-ELF conversion
...ct with a .data section containing the binary data, and symbols for the start, end, and size. I think the -d here has no effect and could be dropped, but we do not support "-b binary" in lld. Originally I thought this is somewhat strange functionality for a linker to support, and assumed there'd be no interest in adding support to lld. It could be addressed in FreeBSD by using objcopy or just converting the binary blob to a C array and treating it as another source file. That said, I was surprised to find that gold also supports this use, so perhaps it's less strange than I tho...

Cert for ip range?
...aving to list out all the various SNI hostnames that a cert should be used for (e.g. "local pop3.example.com imap.example.com pops.example.com pop.example.com .... {" -- and on and on), it'd be handy to be able to just say "local *.example.com {" and call it a day. I imagine there'd be a bit of a slowdown, since you'd have to loop through patterns on each connection (instead of what I assume is a hash lookup), esp for people with significant amounts of 'local's. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Retrieving mail from read-only mdbox
...9;m working on tooling before we start a mass maildir->mdbox conversion. One of those tools is recovering mail from backups (easy as pie with maildir). We've got all of our email on Netapp file servers. They have nice snapshotting but the snapshots are, of course, readonly. My question: is there a doveadm command that will allow for email to be retrieved from a readonly mdbox, either directly (like manipulating the mdbox files directly) or by doveadm talking to the dovecot processes? Ideally, there'd be something like doveadm dump, but that could dump selected message contents. I'...

VC C++ demangler
If it's only whitespace differences, that's easy to accommodate. If there are other cases that don't work, maybe don't use this tactic for those, if we have a good reason for being different. As they say, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. --paulr From: David Blaikie [mailto:dblaikie at gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 20, 2017 10:39 AM To: Rui Ueya...

Why the new centos-release update?
...cies --> Running transaction check ---> Package centos-release.x86_64 0:7-5.1804.el7.centos.2 will be updated ---> Package centos-release.x86_64 0:7-5.1804.1.el7.centos will be an update ...etc... After downloading the 2 centos-release RPMs, the content appears identical.? I was assuming there'd at least be differences with yum definitions, GPG keys, or something like that. Was it just to fix some naming inconsistency or something? -Greg

Renaming a domain computer
...name="<newname>". Doing so changed the displayName, sAMAccountName, dNSHostName, and assorted servicePrincipalNames, but did not change the dn, name, cn, or distinguishedName on the computer object. ADUC still shows the old name, but DNS registers the new name. Does anybody think there'd be any adverse effects to having mismatched cn and sAMAccountName records, compared to leaving and rejoining?? I didn't check objectSid before/after, so don't know if that changed as well. Thanks, -Kris Kris Lou klou at themusiclink.net

ties in runif() output
I get ties in output from runif() when I generate as few as 10^5 variates and get quite a lot when I generate 10^6. Is this expected?? I haven't seen any duplication with rnorm(10^6), but see varying amounts of duplication using rexp(), rbeta() and rgamma(). I would have thought that there'd be enough precision that one wouldn't get ties until generating samples larger than this.. > set.seed(222) > sum(duplicated(runif(10^5))) [1] 4 > sum(duplicated(runif(10^6))) [1] 140 platform i686-pc-linux-gnu arch i686 os linux-gnu system i686, linux-gnu status...

Lattice tick labels not all appearing
Recently I've encountered a phenomenon that can be illustrated thus: > bwplot(runif(45)*100) Depending on the random seed, one or other or both of the outer tick labels are not labelled, even though there'd be heaps of space to do so. The same happens with the postscript device. I can get them both to appear if I add an excessive xlim parameter like so: > bwplot(runif(25)*100, xlim = c(0, 100) + 7*c(-1,1)) Stretching by anything less than 7 will generally not succeed. I'm sure this b...

generating markov chain
Dear help group, Just fyi a markov chain is a sequence of transitions between states (say A,T,G,C - on a gene) with a given probability for each transition. In this case there'd be 16 different kinds, each with a different weight. Given a transition matrix (4x4) filled with all transition probabilities of course, how can I generate a random sequence of a given length, say 200? -Norman Goodacre --------------------------------- [[alternative HTML...

Coercing elements of a matrix from integer to double
...rting elements of matrices and arrays, e.g., from Integers to double-precision, by vectorizing the matrix and then remaking it. Alternatively, I can redefine one element as double which then redefines them all. Both methods are quick, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but I would have thought there'd be something more obvious. Have I missed it? Here's my redimensioning example: ## Matrix M... M <- 1:2e6 ; dim(Mi) <- c(1e3,2e3) dim(M) class(M) ## ...has integer elements, e.g., class(M[1,1]) ## The as.double() command changes ## these to double-precision, but it ## also strip...

making wakeup feature call phone number, not extension?
...erisk to NOT call an extension, but to call a phone number? My setup works great for wakeup on local extensions, but I'd like to set it up to call external phone numbers automatically and play a specific sound file (to remind people of upcoming hair stylist appointments). I suppose either there'd have to be a web interface to use for this (entering a time for the reminder - and a phone number to call) or change the voice prompt to ask for a phone number to use, if not the extension called from. I'm sure it's doable - but I am now knowledgeable enough. I searched and didn...
