Unable to access and browse a DFS tree
Please help me understand why I am unable to connect to and browse the
newly configured DFS tree that I installed on my Samba server according
to the instructions found in Chapter 18. "Hosting a Microsoft
Distributed File System Tree" of the official how-to.
Irrespective of whether I try to access the dfs file tree from either
the local file browser (and choosing the SMB tree) or from

Anyone out there know the THEOS OS
Hi Guys,
I am polling my 'guru' resources to find out if I can get in touch with
anyone (UK based, ideally) with support experience of the THEOS operating
system.
We have one group of sites running a legacy system based on THEOS - an OS
that seems to have 'borrowed' the best parts of DOS, VMS, *NIX and Netware.
We are migrating some remote sites from Wyse Terminals, serial port muxes
and Kilostream (which is costing us an arm and a...

CPU usage over estimated?
I have a quad core CPU running Centos5.
When I use top, I see that running processes use 245% instead of 100%.
If I use gkrellm, I just see one core being used 100%.
top:
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SWAP SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
18037 thba 31 15 304m 242m 62m 44m R 245.3 4.1 148:58.72 ic
Also in the log of some programs I see this strange factor:
CPU Seconds = 2632

Anyone out there know the THEOS OS - Further
...offtopic (eg: asking people
working with Operating Systems if they have experience of a certain other
OS), I don't want to get a discussion thread going about how this 'might
work' so although I appreciate the feedback, please limit it to letting me
know off-list if you have worked with THEOS or know someone who does/has.
Thanks

SecurID patch.
What are the chances of getting the SecurID patch integrated into OpenSSH? I
think I asked before and was told that it could be done with PAM, but I (and
others) are not satisfied with the PAM support.
This "tight" integration seems to work much better.
If not, I'll just sit on my rogue patches :-(

"received packet with own address as source address"
Hello again, folks!
I''m getting one strange problem with FC5 running on XEN 3.0.3 x64...
The MRTG point to my machine with XEN running one absurd volume of
output data sent (normal is around 6 MB/s) and when XEN is working we
get 80 MB/s until my DRAC is alive... after this, the machine crash,
DRAC stop do reply, swith stop do work together...
Anyone knows whats happening now? ;)

Need to restart ypserv to update the nis maps
Hi
I use NIS om my network (CentOS4.6). When an update on a map occurs
(home directory changed in /etc/passwd for instance), I run make -C
/var/yp/ and check the result on a client. On the client I use "ypcat
passwd" and find indeed that the update has propagated (the clients run
ypbind service). On the client I have configured /etc/nsswitch.conf with :

How can I batch print html pages
I thought this was easy, but it turns out to be not so obvious.
My problem:
I have a database with hour registration. I need to print out about
hundreds of pages and have them signed by employees. Of course I want to
do this automatically. Up to now I have a collection of html pages (got
them using wget). So the final thing I want is to print them all out in
one go.
How to do that?

Regarding your patch, did you continue the integration (mainly: Handle PIN
creation and changing ...)?
Do you foreseen to transport it in new release 2.3.0p1?
Kind regards,

A working SIP Phone for Centos44?
I tried numerous but most of them just don't work. They fail on the
quality of the microphone. I tried two that support alsa. Kphone does,
but dtmf (the numbers) are not recognized by Asterisk :-(
I tried X-lite, but that has really terrible voice quality (mic).
I tried Sflphone (has alsa support) and that worked on FC4 (not on FC3)
and it does not work on Centos44 either:

Machine all of a suddens freezes. Any suggestions?
This is a A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard with a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core 4400+ Processor. It freezes and cannot be accessed from the
network. Keyboard/mouse/display, everything just stuck. It had an uptime
of 17 days after I re-connected all cables and boards after a similar crash.
My feeling is, this must be a hardware related problem. I inspected the
logs under /var/log, but nothing.

Forwarding To Cell Phones with Asterrisk PBX
Hello,
My company has a 800 number that we use for customer service. However, instead of having our customer service reps at the office, we route these calls to their cell phones using a service provided by gosolo.com. However our current system isn't ideal because it will call each number in order causing longer and longer waits when we've got people on the line. Our goal is to set

How to prevent virtual machines running twice on the disk images?
I use KVM on two identical centos5 hosts.
I can live migrate the virtual machines from one to the other and it
works great. Once I do this, I can see VM definitions on both hosts
using virt-manager or virsh list --all
On one machine the VM is running, on the other it reports "shut off".
The disk images are accessible to both host machines and I want to have
only one running a the time

Starting Network UPS Tools: (upsdrvctl failed) upsd upsmon ?
Using the HOWTO in
http://keystoneit.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/network-ups-tools-nut-on-ubuntu/
I installed nut on an Ubuntu Edgy LAMP Server with an Eaton Powerware 5110
attached to it via usb. But nut fails to start properly (see the error
message "Starting Network UPS Tools: (upsdrvctl failed) upsd upsmon"
below). It then complains about communication with the UPS being lost

idmap LDAP backend
I'm trying to use the LDAP backend for the idmap database but I just
can't seem to get it to work. There really is rather pathetic
documentation out there on how to implement this. I've basically got my
ldap server setup with an OU called smb and another OU under it called
idmap. Here is my smb.conf file:

workgroup = HQ
server string = Theo's Samba Server
