Evidence Theory in R
Hello,
well, I searched list-archive, cran and the references, but found
nothing. Thus:
Does anybody around here know anything about Dempster-Shafer Theory,
Evidence Theory or Hints in R? Has anybody stumbled about a package that
I overlooked or implemented something in this area? I really would like
to not implement a hint-model a second time.
My apologies if I missed something obvious, but I would be glad if
someone could give me a hint.

(Off topic.) Game theory.
This has nothing to do with R as such; I'm simply trying to exploit
the vast resource of knowledge and expertise that resides in the R
community.
For my sins, I am teaching a course on Game Theory this term. Game
Theory I know from ***nothing***. I am trying to learn the subject
as I go along, staying perhaps half a step in front of the students.
I am having considerable difficulty with several elementary points,
(vis-a-vis two person non-zero-sum games) and have not yet succeeded

differential item function for item response theory
Hi my friends,
I'm very new to R and need your help.
I used R and ltm package for item response theory (IRT) modeling.
I also need to compute differential item function (DIF) for IRT
models. I searched the archive but basically found nothing.
Could you help me find some sources about handling DIF of IRT?
Many thanks in advance!

Solving graph theory problems with R ? (minimum vertex cover)
I just realized (after many discussion with friends), that I might need to
solve a (classical) graph theory problem with R.
My specific problem is called:
Minimum vertex cover <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertex_cover#Definition> for
a hypergraph <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypergraph> (Please see the links
for a formal explanation, also with some pictures)
Which is another way of saying &...

Any R package about COALESCENT THEORY/GENEOLOGICAL TREES??
Hi,
Is there any package in R which i can use for Coalescent Theory/Genelogical Trees?
Is this possible to use R function in C language?
I would be very thankful to you.

barplot in hexagram layout
...t (if it were a clock, the blocks
would be at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 o'clock).
Is this possible with R? I do not know java or c++ to make this with GUI, so
I have been doing it in R instead and it has worked great, except now I need
to change the layout just a bit.
Thank you,
Adele

Averaging uneven measurements by time with uneven numbers of measurements
...g on changes). The matrix has a date, time and Y
column (Y is the measurement). For three days it is 25,000 rows. How do I
average the measurements by every 30 minutes so my matrix is 48 rows per
day? I have been working on this and cannot figure out a simple method. Any
ideas? Thank you.

Verify the linear regression model used in R ( fundamental theory)
...me the model employed in R. But
in the book 'Introductory Statistics with R', it indicates R estimate the
parameters using the method of Least-squares. However it assumes the error
is iid N(o,sigma^2).
Am I correct? Is there any general way (like RSiteSearch() ) to find out
what the model (theory) is for specific function? Let's say how to find out
the assumption and the model used for rlm.
Thanks

Nash equilibrium and other game theory tools implemented in networks using igraph or similar
Why don't you implement and uplad the package to CRAN?

reasonable theory?
Before coding this in C, I wanted to test the idea out in R.
But I'm unsure if the theory is well-founded.
I have a (user-supplied) black-box function which takes R^n -> R^3
and a defined domain for each of the input reals.
I want to send some samples through the box to determine an
approximation of the convex hull of the function's range.

pdfs for printed edition of R reference manual
Hi,
This message is to let the R developers know that the pdfs for the
first two volumes of the printed edition of R reference manual are
available at,
http://www.network-theory.co.uk/R/base/vol1.pdf
http://www.network-theory.co.uk/R/base/vol2.pdf
I've divided the manual into "core commands" of the base package
(control flow, and related programming commands, etc) in Volume 1 and
additional commands grouped by subject (graphics, date-time

Item Response Theory
Hi,
I work with a medical education company and we are interested in
implementing item response theory for our question bank. A few packages for
this already exist in R. We are looking for an expert R developer to
facilitate the implementation with our data. This would be an ongoing
relationship for a part-time consultant. Please respond with a resume/CV
and your availability.
Thanks,
Nachi

Rx/Tx fine tuning of analogue card to PRI card - Am I right with my theory?

Odd behaviour with modules; looking for some theories
Hi all,
Recently, after doing some maintenance on one of my servers
(Centos 5), I rebooted. On reboot, it didn't find the SAN disks at all,
and after some poking around in maintenance mode, I discovered that it
couldn't find the Qlogic module. It turns out that
/lib/modules/<kernel-version>/modules.alias, modules.dep and such were
all empty or just had their header comment lines.
