Samba: Linux and Windows
...ou did answer to this question before but i am new in
this mailing list...
I have 3 GNU/Linux (Slackware) installed machines and 2 Windows 2000
installed machines. One Slackware machine is a file server... I have
create 7 users in this server and i want to set my samba configuration
file for share thems home directory and some group directories... When
it works fine, then i see another problem: GNU/Linux machines are always
ask the user/pass (first time ok, but when i try to join into a
directory, it ask again) and windows machines can not see the shared
directories... What is wrong here? There is...

Icecast 2.1RC1
Hi:
Just observing that there's been no trumpet blowing about Icecast 2.1RC1
being released, with no link on the website or nothing. For thems that
want it, go to http://svn.xiph.org/releases/icecast
Also, I presume that this release has the fallbackoverride functionality in
it. Probably good to have this in the conf file.
This release comes just at the right time for me - I will be using it this
weekend...unless there's a good...

dendrogram
Hello.
I have a small problem when I want to display a dendrogram for about 450 varieties.
The label of theses varieties is too big and we can not see thems well.
How can I do to resize the label smaller?

Conf files doubt
...f a had a gatekeeper, I not need to create another
context for the users, if I don't had a gatekeeper I
need to create another [context] for the other users??
This context have type, context (that match with the
context of extension.conf file), prefix, host and
incominglimit??? (Why and How use thems??)
+ The sip.conf file:
Either has a some purpose [general] context, and have
another [context] where I need to configure the
devices that will be register on the asterix?!?! And I
have the option to redirect some devices to register
in another SIP server?!?!

FW: Microsoft buys Tellme
...end billing (this is one of the main issues with Tellme setting up
a SIP gateway) no real developer is going to be happy using a skype
channel for their Vxml application.
Of course they've basically made nothing out of it and the idea for a
sip gateway is still sitting there unrealised BUT... thems the breaks.
Besides they get to work for MS now and become zillionaires.
Oh and in case anyone out there wants to tell me there is no money to be
made in servicing "the little people" check out how many ITSP's exist in
just north america providing termination services

run winamax with wine on Fedora 9, very slow display.
...s to be avaible, but the display is very slowly and when i launch a "table" the problem remains the same and so the gameplay is very poor.
during execution of StartWinamaxPoker.exe i ve got a lot of message, I don t report all of these messages because they are recursives. I extract of 2 thems, because they come often:

A real-life production scenario
Since it's all the craze, I might as well post our current Asterisk
usage. :-)
EQUIPMENT:
- Beefyish box (dual Xeon 2.4GHz, gig of RAM, more-than-adequate disk
space, etc) in a 1U chassis.
- A second, slightly less beefyish box of specs I don't have handy right
now, also in a 1U.

hist() and bar spacing
Hello,
Could someone explain to me why I get so different histograms, in terms of
bar spacing, depending on the number of counts entered ? (see example below)
> test <- c(0,1,1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0,2,3,2,2,2,3,3,4,5,6,7,5,4,3,4,2,2)
> hist(test)
I obtain this kind of histogram (what I actually want), i.e. large bars with
no space between them

searching for compatible servers
Im trying to find the best hardware to run asterisk on. I see that the
compatibility list is a little dated. Any recommendations out there? This
is for a 19 phone system with 2 tdm cards?

not be my first choice for your project.
For 25 systems and if you want this done without spending to much time,
Clarkconnect would by my first choice for server side OS (#2 would be SME).
For me CentOS x64 is #1 choice for enterprise (+500 users with Terabytes
of storage ) sever solution.

OT: SMART warning on hard drive, same warning for 2 1 /2 years
My wife's box has a very intermittent problem, when booting from the
Maxtor IDE hard drive. This has been going on for about 2 1/2
years.... The box is a Compaq EVO D300v for the Enterprise. When it
boots, there is a SMART advisory from the BIOS that says failure is
immenient. Occasionally, it will not boot, because the BIOS does not
see the hard drive. I replaced the EIDE cable, but the

USB Cordless
Does anyone know if X-Ten or SJPhone support multiple cordless handsets for multiple lines? I have an office with multiple roaming users(nurses) that are in and out. I'd like to provide them telephones, and my idea is to have a PC sitting in a corner somewhere running a softphone client.
