dvd iso's
Well that didn't work. I got a bootable dvd out of it but the
centos installed did not detect the media as having the
installation files. It asked for a cd instead of recognizing the
dvd. Winiso cannot handle dvd's..:( Anyone have a way to make
the centos installer realize all its files are on the dvd instead
of looking for three cd's?

ntwork problem
I switched my file server's hard disks from a p-2 350 to a p-3
deley 1.1 ghz. I ran kudzu and it detected the new nic and
unconfigured the old one. I may have messed up the static ip
assignment because hte system is not able to do anything on the
network. How do i check the ipaddress asignment and also ensure
the proper linksys LNE-100TX driver is loaded?
thanks.

logrotate
I am googgling right now but am unable to find a simpler
description of how to get logrotate to do what i want it to do.
I have a cs 1.6 server that generates quite a bit of logs. That
log generation is going to increase significantly with one of my
plugins i am going to be installing(logD and the impressive
plugin). I want to tell logrotate to daily rotate all the logs

Nope. 100% kernel panic, right around the time it switches root. I even
rebuilt the initramfs, nope.
And speaking of kernel panics, has *anyone* ever considered that all the

mdadm raid 1 question
Does Centos 4.2 have the grub issue where the boot loader does not get
installed onto both hard disks in a software Raid 1 environment?
if so does 4.3 solve that issue?

Raid issue
I am curious about something. I have a friend that made a software raid
1 partition across a 250 gig 7200 rpm drive and an 80 gig 7200 rpm hard
disk drive. he shut the system down normally to clean it out and when
it came back up he gets the following:
a superblock on /dev/md0 failed
would mdadm --assemble --force fix it or lead to more damage?

I am curious if the java requirements for the Drac4 have been updated?
From what i have found in the archives the Drac 4 still requires an old

dhcpd proxy and/or windows autoupdates
At one of our sites we have most outgoing ports blocked and everyone
going through squid for web access. But it seems Windows autoupdate
doesn't pick up the local users proxy settings so we ended up opening
port 80 to some of the windows update servers.
While searching around I found and option called custom-proxy-server
but I don't see that setting in the man pages. Anyone have
