Textwrangler Languages Folder
Dear R Community,
I recently switched to a Mac (10.6.5), and have installed Textwrangler to
run code to R. However, I can't install the syntax highlighting file because
I can't find the directory: "~Users/username/Library/Application
Support/TextWrangler/Language Modules/". Is there a different location I can
place the syntax highlighting file?

Sweave and Textwrangler
Hi,
I am trying to get TextWrangler to work with LaTeX and Sweave. Ideally
I would call a script from TextWrangler that would run Sweave on a
document, then LaTeX (using SyncTeX), and finally
open the corresponding pdf in Skim. Of course I don't always need to
run Sweave and would be looking for the option of LaTeX -> Open. I...

Coda, Textwrangler, Writeroom, OS X
Hello Everyone,
Has anyone installed Markdown for Coda, Writeroom, Textwrangler, or OS
X? I'm really interested in using this more but I'm interested in
finding the best way to use. Biggest win for me would be for it to
work from within Writeroom. Textwrangler would be next, followed by
OS X, and Coda would be almost useless. I did see that MacPorts has 2
different...

[LLVMdev] TableGen highlighting files for TextWrangler/BBEdit
Hi,
I've written a syntax highlighting mode for TextWrangler / BBEdit. The folding still needs work,
and the keyword list expanded, but I thought I'd post it here in case anyone has use for it. Files
are available at:

After I have folding working to my liking I can che...

standalone markdown
Hi
Is it possible to run Markdown the app standalone, that is, not as part
of a webserver. So the model would be write a file in Markdown and then
use the Markdown app to convert the file into (x)html for local browsing
in a browser.
I want to learn Markdown before I have to go through the pain of setting
up a webserver. I have been trying to get jetty working on Fedora 16
but keep

mac users: what program do you use to create your views?
just wondering if there is a better way to create a nice view other than
using iweb. like, it would be nice if you can design a view, and then
just add the ruby tags.
thanks.

buggy HTML from nested lists w/ paragraphs
...As I neared the end, I found (via
MarsEdit's preview) that in place of two sections of content,
Markdown had begun to generate gibberish strings like this:
aa9ca05a7c006bc5e5c091c00aee0cd7
After weeding through different sections of my text to find an
offending pattern (and even using TextWrangler to search for stray
Unicode and the like), I found that it seems to result from a
particular sequence, or type of sequence, involving headers, list
items, and paragraphs, regardless of their content.
With all non-offending content weeded out, and 'text(n)' substituted
for each line...

Better tools for authoring the view
I''m hand editing my .css and .rhtml files using SciTE and hitting
refresh in my browser to see the results - its slow going.
What tools are people using to author their .css and .rhtml files?
Thanks,
Neville

R.app "incompatable" with Emacs
Dear R-users on the Mac,
With Leopard 10.5.2, R.app GUI 1.23, and Emacs 22.1.1 (i386-apple-
darwin9, Carbon Version 1.6.0)
I've got the following problem. When editing foo.R in R.app I get
myriads of ^M (end-of-line or CR?) in the file when opened
with Emacs. This isn't trivial to me as I shift between R.app and
Emacs/ESS.
Any simple tweak?

Startup Files (RProfile) and R-Aqua
Hello,
I'm having some difficulty understanding the documentation relative to
the startup files with R-Aqua 2.0.1 for Mac OS X.
Specifically, I'm wondering: where does R search for the startup files
(my home directory at Users:<me>:?); how should they be named
(.RProfile will be treated by Mac OS X as a system file and be hidden,
so I'm wondering if it should just be

run a slef-written function
How could one get started with a self-written function?
I have a function written in .txt format, but can not find the way to import
it to the R space.
Would be very appreciated for help.

Diff tool for OSX
I''ve looked for DIFF tools for OSX but haven''t found anything good
yet. Tried guiffy (http://www.guiffy.com) but it''s very slow and the
folder comparison doesn''t indicate a change until you drill down to
the level with the difference which kinda defeats the purpose.
I''m missing TortoiseSVN and the diff tool that comes with it. Any

Mac Text editors
Hi everyone,
I've recently moved from using a windows machine to a Mac (some might call it an upgrade, others not?I'll let you be the judge). Once I started using Notepad ++ on my windows machine, I really began to like it. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the free text editor options are for the Mac (Notepad ++ is windows only). I've dabbled with Linux before and used

using read.table, removing extra quotation mark from a text field? (e.g. ""cat" )
I am using read.table to import a text file within R.
There are several "errors" in my text file. An "extra" quotation mark has
inadvertently been included within a few text fields.
e.g. for a pipe (|) delimited text file, I have something similar to this:
1|7|30| "dog"
2|6|25| ""cat"
3|4|20|""
4|5| 56| "mouse"
5|3|56|

YAML, UTF-8, TextMate, Notepad
This is not a question but a report on the difficulties I had and the
solution I found with respect to UTF-8, YAML::load, and Ruby/Rails.
Comments are appreciated.

I had been struggling for two days to get UTF-8 working in my Rails app.
I had/have a localization file, lib\locale\de.yml, that had iso-8859-1
encoding. I could not get that to display properly.
