[LLVMdev] strace for whole-program bitcodes (was: RE: building whole-program bitcode with LLVM)
...guaranteed to mimic faithfully an arbitrarily nutty default build system, and an strace-based approach seemed like a "Gordian knot" solution. However I haven't tried it yet and I'm wondering if anyone else has, or if anyone can think of situations where it will fail. [LLVMdev] strace for whole-program bitcodes (was: RE: building whole-program bitcode with LLVM)
Hi Terence, I believe that this is in fact similar to an approach Coverity uses (or used at one time) as a robust solution to determine what was done during a build. I can imagine that one can build a robust system following this technique, but it also seems like it might be quite a bit of work. Another po...

Cisco to Cisco - poor quality
...efly one year ago. However, I did also try on this occasion to make a call between the cisco phone and MSN - that worked fine. So it would seem that the cisco phone is to blame? - but why? Does anyone know why two phones of the same type should have so much problem talking to each other? Thanks! Terence.

Thanks. Terence. P.S. - I forgot to say. I'm running Mandrake Linux 7.2 and, as far as I can remember, I did install most of the important Development tools. Is there a specific one or a library I need to get Wine compiled?

General tweaking tips for wine?
...own machine. But then again, my own version of wine is a bog-standard installation without any special adjustments made to it. What are the steps usually taken to attempt to get a program to run under Wine? Or is that too difficult a question to answer since it depends on the program? Thanks, Terence.

It's simple enough that people might find it useful to learn about LLVM's IR and about source-to-source translators (I generate the text-based IR). I'd welcome any feedback and corrections to the description or code. thanks!
