underscores, sugar, and more and more bugs
I sent this earlier under with the subject "artificial sugar causes cancer" and I think some spam filters ate it. Here it is again: ====================================== All, If you look at http://rubyforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=6760&group_id=797&atid=3149 you''ll see that Chad (the submitter) found the source of the bug. No other account had the correct privileges to correct this so I'm wondering, if I had mounted that vdi as a secondary device on another VM, browsed the file system and delete /etc/shadow would this have wiped all users passwords meaning I could regain access again? (This is past tense because its sorted now but I'm curious if this would have worked? And if not, what could I have done?). -- Regards, James. http://www.jamesbensley.co.cc/ There are 10 kinds of people in the world; Those who understand Vigesimal, and J others...?

Computing/Interpreting Odds Ratios for 3-way interactions from lmer
...st appropriate analysis for the data that I have though, so I've been trying to muddle through. I'm currently stumped on how to interpret/compute odds ratios for two and three way interactions when a variable has more than 2 factors. The study design is an examination of the use of past tense by 3 subject populations in 3 different sentence types and 2 locations within each sentence. I have been treating subject and main/subordinate verbs as random factors and group (age, sli, mlu) and condition (and, that, when) and clause order (first/second) as fixed factors. In each case it is wor...

[ wxruby-Bugs-28669 ] INSTALL file states incorrect use of class exclusion
...the rakefiles, I found out, the exported variable misses a *D* at the end. Therefore, the statement must be like this: ================================ export WXRUBY_EXCLUDED=ThisClass,ThatClass ================================ Suggestion: Allow both variables or stick to the version in present tense, because I don''t see the point why it should be past tense. [LLVMdev] Backends supporting multiple LLVM revisions...
...use, not us. I'm more than willing to consider alternatives… your suggestion, if I read it correctly, is basically to maintain the 3 versions separately and in parallel until such time as the others are up to the point that LLVM was when AMDIL goes in. (Ya, I don't think I got all the tenses right in that sentence… I hope you get my drift. ;-) I'd really like an alternative other than to having to maintain multiple backends for what will probably 6 months to a year. We're spread pretty thin now. Thanks, Richard On Dec 7, 2012, at 11:01 AM, Eric Christopher <echristo at gm...

HooDaHek 0.6 Released
HooDaHek 0.6 has been released. So soon, you say? Well, the best laid plans of mice and men... Steven BerkHolz is a pretty sharp stick and said to me, "Why don't you have HooDaHek change the CallerID when it looks up the name in the database on an incoming call?" Much head smacketh ensued, and as I made that change for Steven, I noticed that I had the way wrong version of
