Hi. I've now "solved" the problem. If you remember, I was unable to login from Windows 2000 to a Samba PDC. To "solve" the problem, I changed the computer name in Windows 2000 and then created a new machine account. First, it was "VIRTUAL-TEICH", and now it is "vm-teich". However, this time I created the machine account in samba in all lower case characters, whereas I first had it in all upper case. Can this be the root of my problems? Hi! I'd like to setup a Samba server which should do user authentication against an Active Directory. Our AD admins told me, that we do not have Window NT 4.0 Domains available. What I'm trying to accomplish, is that the users can login with the same username/password they use with the AD. Also, if the password is changed in the AD, this change should be reflected on the Samba server.

Hi! I'm trying to setup samba 2.2.4 on MandrakeLinux 8.2. The server should act as a file storage for about 25 Windows 2000 clients. Setting up a "basic" server which just serves the files is easy.
