If you want to back up a snapshot of a running system, you should use "virsh snapshot-create" to capture the complete state of the system. http://searchservervirtualization.techtarget.com/tip/Getting-a-clear-picture-on-KVM-snapshot-basics Backups from within the guest will typically be much smaller. The Wrong Choice: Locked in by license restrictions
A colleague pointed me to this article advocating R as a Matlab substitute. Here is the link (deliberately on two lines: http://searchenterpriselinux.techtarget.com/ originalContent/0,289142,sid39_gci902076,00.html I'm not a Matlab user, but I understand that it provides a nice front end to the Linpack collection of numerical linear algebra routines. My friend and I wonder if R can really compete in that league. Does anyone know if there are publis...

MOS Scores and LCR
Is there any tool that can do LCR for Asterisk but also take into account MOS scores? Is it possible to automatically generate MOS scores on random "calls" so as to keep an updated database on a per provider, per destination, per time-of-day score? Hopefully, with that information we can create a better LCR module or script? Thanks, Daniel

Restrict Disk Usage
Hi Everyone, Is there any way to restrict Disk usages per DomU? It would be to stop customers from hogging all the available disk time and slow everyone else down. Apperently, Cloudmin can do this, but that costs money... Any ideas would be appreciated Thanks _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com

Trying to get a better understanding of group mapping
...; -1 Only the domain accounts have the same sid that I see when I run the getlocalsid command. Why is this? Does it have anything to do with the whole Windows logic of domain accounts vs. local accounts? What is the advantage of mapping the non-domain accounts? See http://searchenterpriselinux.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid39_cid557668_tax293414,00.html The example in the Samba How To Collection maps the Windows Domain Admins group to the Linux ntadmin group. Why don't we just map it to the Linux root group? How do we make the ntadmin group have root access on the Linux box...
